I need to secure my password on my router so our neighbors can't use our wireless internet

If your router isn't secure get one that is.Some routers are not secure. They rely on the user to secure the router's security codes. All routers come with a disc if it didn't it's a mickey mouse router.Install the disc again if you didn't do it before.Your PC should recognise it.Some operating systems don't recognise the router.Go to hardware in the control panel Where it says install a device click on it.Windows will check to see if a driver is available for your router.Go to the manufacturers website and download the driver for your particular router.IT will come up with boxes and you put in the model and serial number and it will search it's database for your driver.Good Luck.

How do i secure my connection so no one else can use it

Go into your router settings by typing 192.168.1.1 into your internet explorer window. By default the user name is left blank and the password is admin. Click on the wireless tab then the wireless security underneath that. If the security mode is set to anything other than disabled then you are already secure. If it is disabled then choose your security mode to set it up. I would use either WPA - personal or WEP.

I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SECURE MY LYNKSIS WRT150N

To secure your router wireless signal Your Wireless signal may already be secured by the manufacturer and often the wireless code is printed on a label stuck to the router itself
IF not already set here is how you secure the wireless Connect your PC to the router with a cable to one of the LAN connections - Now you need to Log into the setup of the router - to do that open a web browser, use Internet explorer (some routers setup pages do not work correctly with other browsers) In the browser address bar - enter the Router’s default IP address, 192.168.1.1, in the Address field. Press the Enter key. A screen will appear asking you for your User name and Password. Leave the User Name field blank. Enter admin in the Password field. Then click the OK button.
Now you can goto the wireless section or secruity section and set the type of encyption to WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK etc and then make up your own password.
On the PC Double click on the wireless connection in the system tray (bottom right hand side of screen) and then connect manually to your wireless signal - you will be asked for the password you set in the router.
Now you are connected.

D-Link DIR-625 - Unsecure connection

How do you know that you are connecting and there is no security? There first thing to check is the router settings. You should type into the browser 192.168.1.1 (or whatever you have configured your router's IP address for). Enter the user name and password for the router. On the next screen you will notice a link for wireless settings. Click this and on the new page check the bottom section that says "Wireless Security Mode". It should be set to something other than "none". Post back and let me know what it is set to.
