Try another remote control, if it is also not working that means remote sensor in tv got bad and become unable to receive remote signals, replace remote sensor in tv. If other remote works then replace batteries in bad/ suspected remote and check. Let me know model and brand of your tv if you have additional question. Thanks.
Hi, Two things are involved to cause that problem, tv remote control and remote sensor in tv. Upon verification of remote working, it would be confirm that remote sensor in tv is defective and need to be replaced. Remote control sends infra red light signal to tv and we can not see that light with naked-eye, so need digital camera or cell phone camera to see it by watching remote front through camera, press any keys on remote, if you see infra red light is blinking in remote front that means remote is working and remote sensor in tv will be replaced. If no light blinking on pressing remote buttons confirm that this remote is defective and buy new remote. Let me know if you have additional question. Thanks.
Hi I am Vortash , Its possible the IR detector has gone but unlikely , it is more likely that due to a low battery in a remote the signals have corrupted the remote processor this used to happen a lot with the old EMI and Bush sets and sometimes it is just a fact that the remote has given up the ghost . You can check to see if your remote is working with your Iphone or any phone camera . Put the phone on record and place the remote in front of the lens , if it is working you should be able to see the infrared diode flashing in the phones viewscreen . If it is working you will need to find out the de- corruption proceadure for your model of set hope this helps regards Vortash
First, You cannot resync the remote, Second the IR sensor may be bad on the tv and third, the Digital bd may be bad. The IR sensor connects directly to the Digital bd which is the brains of the tv. Also, there maybe a stuck button on the remote or the buttons on the tv.
need nmore info then that. are u saying that the remote control is not working with the tv or are u saying that the controls on the set is not working . ok lets say the remote is not working 99 times the problem is the remote control unit. the best way to find out is. if your tv is a newone 1 -2 years old u could take the remote to best buy and see if it will work on a nother tv set there. if not it is your remote problem solved.if it does work then i could be the sensor but u need a scope to see the rf signal from the sensor i have only change 2 sensers in my 30 years working in electronice service field. let me know marty
The sensor is not the only fault that can cause the remote control to not work. The sensor is only one part of the circuits involved.
Between the sensor, there may be buffer amplifier stage, and then there is the main uPC.
What we do is send a remote IR data signal to the sensor, and on the circuit board in the set I follow the data signal along its path using a scope in reference to the service diagrams to see where the data loss is.
Personaly, I would not blindly buy a new sensor based on a guess without doing the proper tests.
Yeah! ... After extensive digging around, I found the service manual at the
following location. You have to create an account to get the DL (9.3 Mb) and the
site is in Spanish, but the manual is in in English. The remote sensor
is on board HC and should be a simple fix:
