I baught a pack of JVC High SPee Grande Vitesse recordable DVD-R's. Perhaps I have a bad batch? FIVE attempts to burn a test video on these resulted in choppy, sped up and bad audio and all my other brands of recordable DVD's worked fine on these tests? Just curious. Anyone know anything about this?

You need to send the recorder back to replace a defective chip that will solve the "loading" message problem. I sent mine back to Woburn Massachusetts and they fixed it free.
You're correct, this machine will not recognize 16x DVD-R blanks for recording.

Can only record 2x,4x, and 8x..........not anything beyond 8x it seems....so 1x-16x will not work. Now if I could just get the loading messageto stop on mine.

I am attempting to burn a disc off of idvd and after inserting the ativa disc it ejects it and says to insert a recordable disc. Any ideas why? The disc are new just opened.

Try another blank disk. When you put it in, do not click on any prompts or anything like that. It is possible something got burned on the bottom of the disk. It is also possible, you need to use a CDROM and not a DVDRROM. Also, if you look at the bottom of the disk, you will see a section of a different color starting from the middle and moving out if there is any information on the disk.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Nero cannot burn DVD inserted in my LG GSA-H55N DVD-RAM rewriter

Have you tried other discs, or just that one? It might be that the disc you've inserted already has something written on it, and you can't burn a DVD-R twice. From the error message you're getting, that would be my guess.

Can anybody help me, I purchased a Samsung dvd recorder model dvdvr350m, since purchasing the unit it will not recognize that it has recordable dvd's in it (dvd-rw),it tells me no disc inserted please...

Did the sales guy use the same DVD-RW that you did? Maybe the brand you are using is not of good quality and can not be recognized by the recorder. If he did not use the same disc did you notice if he used DVD-RW or DVD+RW? Some DVD-Recorders only recognize one or the other but this is kind of rare these days. I recommend verbatim brand discs. They should be available for sale at any shop. If you want the ultimate in quality DVDs then go with Taiyo Yuden. This Japanese brand invented recordable media and in addition to that they are obsessed with quality. www.supermediastore.com is always where I get my discs.
