Problem for Hard Drives
Generic problem for all Hard Drives
Hitachi Easy Hard Drive (external)500GB
I have the Hitachi program on my computer, have backed up 3 items...it doent allow/show me how to name the backup files...just gives dates of save...When I go into My Computer to locate the F file( where it said it would save to) nothing shows up? I AM NOT very computer savay...Please help ,explain in simple how to do terms...I really Appeciate any help you can offer.... Thanks, Coralee

ok then tell me. When u run the program is it a windows or DOS program? If its a windows program, usually under the 'Help' menu there would be 'About'. click that and tell me all the details.

My guess it's a new user navigation/nomenclature issue.
If this is a Windows machine, then do another backup and before you start it, write down the PATH to where it "says" it's saving your data.
If it is indeed saving to your "F" drive (not "file"), then open "My Computer", which will show you all the different drives on your computer.
Then compare what you wrote down, and follow that path to your file.
If you can't FIND an "F" drive, than it may be referring to a removable drive that isn't connected to your machine (do you use a removable FLASH drive, or external hard drive?).
It always helps to remember with computers, it's about following a path, if you get off the path, start over, and pay closer attention to what you are doing, and you'll find your way eventually.
