Question about Compaq Presario 1275 Notebook
I have Presario 1275 PC Notebook. The software is old. I dont think I need to wipe the system if I can just upgrade it.
The comp is asking me for a 25 character code of authenticity, the code I have is only 20 characters long. The Microsoft place said they cant give me a 25 figure code cause they no longer register W98. I have to upgrade.
How in the world do I upgrade? Thanks for Your Help!
Most laptops with the original Microsoft OS has a sticker underneath with the 25 character code. That would be what you need for Win98 assuming that it is the original OS installed in the laptop.
For the new OS (Win XP), the new code would come either with the CD installer or on a sticker.
Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
