I am using jet s8000H, the honk kong version, is there any way to change this to a european, or english speaking version, as i am in ireland. (also, how do i know which firmware i am using? and if it is the latest? thanks

Try running the program in compatibility mode. Right click on the icon used to start it, go to compatibility and change it to Windows XP. If this doesn't work, the program is not capable of running in Windows 7 so you will need to downgrade Windows or upgrade to a newer version of the Learn to Speak English software.

Go into the menu and then over to the setup menu (the "wrench"). On most Lumix cameras, the language entry is next to last. It has an icon of a little head speaking. Once there, you should find the word "english" and click on it.

Have you tried re-flashing the unit with the latest EU firmware update available from the JVC website? http://www.jvc-victor.co.jp/english/car/support/navi/nt1/eu/index.html Should overide the current firmware then allow you to use UK maps. If it doesn't work you can always reflash it with the USA update.

wat I did was, I installed an elgish version of vista and then used the key given for the chinese vista for registration. Hence, I got both english version of vista and got it licensed too.

1 : Download & install latest version ActivSync 4.5 for XP ActiveSync 4.5
2 : Download samsung omnia os ZHHH2Z < full update Hong Kong English tested by me

3: Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialer
With the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*#
Select 'Preconfiguration'
Enter code *#81230*# and select OK
Select 'Hong Kong', with the default Operator
Accept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESET<(credit goes to modaco forum Paul for this tips)

4 : open i908ZHHH2_ENG from download folder

5 : Turn off the omnia

6 : connect the omnia to a pc using the usb cable

7 : turn on the omnia

8 : click start button if the device found

9 : wait for job done massage

The hong kong n76 accepts both english and simplified chinese input so it is posible that you can change the language if you can find it although if your phone has as i suspect been flashed with the chinese version firmware then you may need to have the phone reflashed with the english version. You can get a nokia service point to do this for a small charge or if you feel confident can do it yourself with something like, nemesis software and the usb cable that came with it.
