My idea sim card is asking a puk code what do i do my number is 9921340873

PUK code comes with your phone sim card when you bought it.Try locating where the whole box or package of your phone. Some sims comes with a manual and usually the puk code are written in there..Others comes like a regular size card and you have to detach the sim from there..in this card thee should be two Puk code that is written..

At the time when you enter a wrong pin number three times the phone asks you for a PUK number. The PUK code is generally eight digit number This PUK number is an unlocking code which helps you to unlock the phone and use it. If you enter a wrong PUK number 10 times than you simcard gets rejected. Then you will have to buy a new simcard. It might happen that your phone might ask you for PUK2 after you enter your PUK number. You can find the PUK code is in your SIM card documentation Starter Pack. If you do not have this then contact your phone service provider. Your cell phone service provider can give you the PUK code once they have confirmed your identity to prevent any stolen SIM access.

Few people use PIN locking system to lock their phone to avoid un-authorised access. Though this is a good option. Three wrong entry of PIN code will result in SIM blocking. Once SIM gets blocked, phone starts asking PUK code to enter. If you again enter wrong code for three times, SIM gets completely blocked. You have to walk into your service provider outlet to get a replacement SIM card.

PUK code is a SIM specific code assigned by your service provider. No way you can guess & enter it. So, when it asks for the PUK code, don't do anything, get the PUK code from your service provider(Of which company your sim is).

This problem is very common and most users think that it's related to phone, which is not true, this is only with your sim card and is for security reason. We can't use software or hardware or other tricks or methods to unlock it, the only solution is from the Service Operator/Network Operator.
If you keep entering random codes/unknown numbers several times, your sim card will be rejected and will not be usable anymore.

Your only solution is to call the service provider (Network operator's customer care), ask them to give you your puk code, they'll promptly give it to you after few inquiries to make sure you are the true owner of the sim card. (there's no charge as well, and if you call from the same network' sim card to the customer care, you'll not spend/pay a penny).

There's no other alternatives, or no other options that you can get the code, so don't play around, rather make a call to the customer care of the sim card network operator and get the code.

if your phone is asking for the PUK code then this is the code for the sim card if it lets you enter a code then all you need to do is contact your service provider and give ask them for the PUK code, they will give you this for free over the phone.

if how ever you have entered the PUK code wrong a certain amount of times then this will block the sim card and it will mean that this sim card can no longer be used, so if your phone is asking for the PUK code then call your service provider and ask them for the code, this will then allow you to use that sim card.

if the PUK code is blocked and can no longer be used then your only other option would be to get another sim card for the phone that is for the network your phone can use if the sim card thats asking for the PUK code is say from vodafone then you need to get another vodafone sim card that is unless you phone has been duel banded and can use any network.

when you get a new sim card you should get the PUK code for that sim card so if you do go for a new sim card then keep this number handy in case you ever need the PUK code again.

The PUK code is assigned to every single sim cad made and every single sim card has its own unique code that can only be found through your service provider so if they give you the PUK code for the sim card thats asking then remember this code will only work with that sim card and no other.

from what i can remember you get 10 chances of getting the PUK right before the sim card gets locked and once the seim card is locked it can never be unlocked so its not wort trying to guess the code as its a random 8 or 11 digit number so guessing the correct code would be harder than winning the lottery.

call idea customer care by any other idea user and ask for your puk code by telling them the numbers on the other side of your sim card and your sim contact number............
they will tell you your puk code...........

call your mobile service customer care number and ask your puk code from them...they will ask yourr last 4digit sim card number...give that number to them...they will give puk code ...use that code and continue your operation
