My TV does not have a scart socket and I can't get the set top to work. Can anyone help me with setting up instructions? At the moment the aerial goes into the wall aerial socket to a roof aerial but cannot get the box to respond to the remote except for on and off so cannot get the menu to set it up.
Make sure yo have the leads connected correctly, after you connected an aerial lead from the box to the tv aerial input, make sure the box is switched on then tune the tv until you see a signal from the box (usually 35)if you do it through a video you may find its on the same frequency causing ghosting on the picture,in which case you will have to change the output frequency of the box or thee video

To record a satellite you will need two scart leads.
Plug one end of the first scart lead into the "DVD/VCR SCART" socket on the back of the satellite receiver, then plug the other end into the "INPUT" scart on the back of the VCR. Take one end of the second scart lead and plug it into the "OUTPUT" socket on the back of the VCR and plug the other end into "SCART IN" socket on the back of the TV.
To record, select the satellite channel you want to record, then, on the VCR, select scart input, (at this point, you can record a satellite program). To watch a satellite channel or recorded satellite channel, select the scart input on the TV.
If you need anymore information, then let me know.
But if 5 speaker setup have your front left and right speakers on the appropriate side of the television, your center speaker in the middle of the tv, Either mounted on the wall or underneath or on the shelf, try to have the center speaker set back from the front speakers. Subwoofer usually I mount behind the entertainment center. Your rear right and left speakers optimum position is behind you on the left and right.
If its a 7 speaker setup everything is the same except side right and left speakers go in the middle somewhere between the right and left front and rear speakers
I will make a example the the cursors Speaker *TV LF CT and TV* RF Subwoofer behind tv SL SR LR RR
There is some sort of setting you need to change on the JVC receiver. I had this same problem, and I read the manual and it solved it. You need to press and hold down a button to change the mode. Your unit probably says "TV Sound" right now. Once you press this button (not sure what button) like the manual says, the display should change to "DBS" and then it should work just fne.
Use SCART lead from Sat. box to VCR input( so you can record progs.) then another SCART lead from VCR output to TV set AV1 input. Connect DVD (player only I presume) direct to AV2 input of TV set using another SCART lead.
Hope all this works O.K.
Note:- If DVD is also a recorder then you don't need VCR as a recording device and leads will need to be altered accordingly, of course!!
If your amp is not upcoverting the picture you will have to come from the yellow monitor out on the amp to in on the tv,if you have no input on tv use a scart to phono convertor pluged into the scart socket.
hope this helps.
have you muliple scart leads connected? is everything wired through the tv? is everything wired together? you need 1 scart lead from the tv with enough scart sockets on it to take all your extras.connect your amp through a scart lead aswell.3 things will have to be turned on at all times e.g. tv,sat, amp.Don't connect any 2 extras together e.g. vcr to sat one will kill the sound from the other
