Question about Bosch PB10-CD Radio/CD Boombox

1 Answer

Won't charge battery

If I use a "charged" battery on my radio, it will run until the battery is dead. Plug it in and it will continue working, however, it will not charge the dead battery. I must charge it in a different charger. Why?

OOps! I should have added that I purchased a new battery just to see if my batteries (2) were bad. Also, those original batteries only took a charge maybe 100 times, if that. And the new battery...nothing. So, I tried charging all of these batteries on a friends radio...and they charge fine.

battery not charging. I bought a new bosch 14.4 volt battery. The battery did have a little charge when I first placed it in the radio. When the battery died the radio shut off and now when I plug the battery back into the radio it displays that it is charging than the charging battery display shuts off and does not charge. The rest of the radio works fine.

My Radio will not work unless it has a fresh battery. If plugged into A/C the Outlets (on radio) have power but the radio will not function.

I have a Bosch PB10-CD and everything works fine when it is plugged in with the battery charging. I can unplu it and the radio still works with the battery in it just fine, but when I plug the unit in and...

I have seen in some cases where the rechargeable battery is part of the B+ circuitry when adapter is combined, this maybe normal for this model. But you might be able to go online to Bosch and find out more information from customer support or the technical department.

Which Batteries can be used / charged in PB10-CD?

you can use any of the current 12-24Volt NiCad Batteries. BAT120 BAT140 BAT180 BAT181 and BAT240. You can also use the older platinum batteries that are listed in the OM, but you probably wont find those anymore. They were replaced by the bluecore batteries in 2005

The tuner not working

First thing to try would be to take out all of the batteries, including the clock battery if there is one. Wait 12 to 24 hours and reinstall the batteries. If that does not work, then there is a problem between the microprocessor and the varactor tuner inside this radio, and unless its less then one year old ,for warranty repair, it most like would not be worth the diagnosis charge or repair charge. Good Luck PS please do not forget to rate this thread
