Printer I reinstalled the driver and it did not work. I still cannot print. What is next.

    Error message popped up. It says "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup".

    I went to the Add a printer selection and deleted the printer. Then I installed the driver with the CD just following the prompts it gave.

    yep. nothing has changed since yesterday. the whole system and network has been working fine for months. this started after the power outage last night.

  • Have you encountered any error message prompt? If yes what are those?
  • Whats your printer's model and operating system of your computer?

    Please go to Start > Run
    Type "services.msc" and enter
    a window will appear locate the "Print Spooler" make sure its started and set automatic if not you start it as shown below

    Now please proceed to "Printers and Faxes" folder tell me the status of the Printer. (Ready, Not Ready, Error etc.) If its ready attempt to print a test page

    Still its because of the Driver, I believe we need to check the your operating system once more. Also tell me what steps you have completed to install the printer? I am going to check if a latest driver version is available. Meanwhile you may totally uninstall current installation and install again. by using the CD that came with the printer.

    There is a high chance that network address of the printer might not be accessible.

    As we spoken on the phone, Issue is related the networking, Please check the network interface communication with the Office network.
    Here is the possible causes


    • Cabling issues

    • Printer's integrated NIC (Network Interface card) malfunction

    • Configuration Issue at the printer side.

      Please check the the steps accordingly.

    First try unpluging the printer while it is on for 70 seconds. Then plug
    it back in now check to see if it show the same display. If it does
    then delete the printer and download and install the driver which i gave you..

After printing Adobe document next print job stops in the middle. Printer has to be turned offf then when turned back on printing resumes.


I would try reinstalling the printer drivers first. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling Adobe. If you still have this error after both reinstalls, contact your printer's manufacturer.

Whats the error message and can you try the printer directly connected into your computer?

Also check what your computer says in the printer status -> start -> printers and faxes -> your printer.

I run Windows Vista Home Premium os and have an hp officejet K60 printer attached. Mysteriously quit printing this week; each attempt to print elicits a print error in the print queue. I tried uninstalling...


Click Start and click Control Panel.
Click Hardware and Sound then Printers.
Click Add a printer. This launches the Add Printer Wizard.
Click Add a local printer.
Now, Use the drop down arrow to select USB port 001 then click on Next.
Select the Manufacturer as HP from drop down list and select DeskJet 990c from printer drop down list. Click Next.
Verify the printer name and set the printer as default then click next.
Select replace current drivers
Do not select print a test page option.
Click on Finish.
Click on start then search type notepad.

Dymo Labelwriter 450 Turbo won't print on Windows XP Pro system. Installed drivers & software from CD provided (Ver 8.0) Looks like it installed cleanly, but noticed that the printer didn't acknowledge...


Uninstall the driver, remove any trace of the install from the system (as much as is possible). Whent his gets messed up it's really hard to get working on that machine again under XP. Aquire the printer through add printer and detect not the software on the CD, install the driver using the inf file on the Cd. Now reinstall the printer software using USB or serial as an option, when prompted select custom install and no driver. If you have it setup on another machine this also works, but acquire the printer through network neighborhood instead of using add/remove programs.

Wireless printer driver needs to be reinstalled. it's happening on multiple computers. Driver stops working. Then we reistall it and it prints for a while before failing again (on mulltiple computers)...


It is a problem with the software. You need to get these information, The IP address of the Printer to check if its connected to the network. Then Go to Printers and Faxes and click on Add a printer. SELECT a local printer attached to the computer and UNCHECK Automatically detect and install my plug and play printer. Then Click next and select CREATE A NEW PORT, select A standard TCP/IP port. Click next and enter the IP address of the printer there and click next. And again next to complete that wizard. Now select the manufacturer as HP and select the printer as HP DESKJET 990C. Do Not WORRY trust me it will work and click next to complete the wizard. Restart the PC to start printng.

hi... have some idea about your problem... maybe u should try this... try to install your twain driver of your printer first then next is the scanner driver... then you'll fing what will happen next... thank you very much...

After reinstalling windows vista home premium and microsoft works


Pushing the continue button and getting a test page just lets you know the printer is functional. This is a test without having the computer involved. If you can print a test page from the print driver, this lets you know that there is communication between the computer and the printer.

Uninstall your current drivers for the 1700, there are 2 places to look for the drivers, one would be in your all programs list, Dell Printer, uninstall, the other would be in control panel, programs and features, look for the dell printer software there. Once you have this uninstalled, go to device manager while the printer is still attached to your computer. In device manger look for the icon that represents the printer, right click it and then click uninstall. Now detach your printer, close device manager, restart your computer. Next you will boot back to the desktop, attach your printer, if windows recognizes and tries to install the printer, stop/cancel it. Install the printer drivers from the file you downloaded from the Dell support site. Now try printing from your application.

Must Reinstall to Print


Most USB printers need to have the printer driver installed before you connect the printer to the computer, did you install the printer this way?

Also, check and see if it is the default printer.

If those do not work:

1) Turn off the Terminate and Stay Resident programs MSCONFIG in VISTA.
2) Disable HP device discovery service.
3) Uninstall the All-In-One software.
4) Turn off firewall and antivirus.
5) Reinstall the latest software for the All-In-One.

Epson Stylus CX4800 All-In-One


One possible solution that we can advice is to do a complete trash & reinstallation of printer driver as well as the scanner driver.

For iMac with Leopard, there is a big possibility that the printer driver is not the correct epson series printer driver that's why you can't ink levels is unavailable. Just to set an expectation, printer driver for CX4800 is pre-installed as resident driver in Leopard. Please try to the following to solve that issue:

Determine Which Driver is Currently Being Used
1. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the Finder and open System Preferences.
2. In the System Preferences window, click on Print & Fax.
3. In the list of printers on the left side of the Print & Fax window, click once on your Epson printer to select it.
4. Check the name of the driver being used; it is displayed in the center of the Print & Fax window next to “Kind”.
5. If the driver name displayed next to “Kind” is Gutenprint, the incorrect driver is being used. Follow the steps in the next section to select the correct driver.

Selecting the Correct Driver
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Delete the print queue and remove the printer from Print & Fax by clicking on the minus (-) button under the list of printers. Click OK to confirm the removal.
3. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the Finder and open System Preferences.
4. In the System Preferences window, click on Print & Fax.
5. Turn on the printer. The system should add the printer automatically.
6. If the system does not add the printer or if it adds it using the Gutenprint driver, contact Apple for assistance. You may need to reinstall the Epson drivers provided with Leopard.

NOTE: To check ink levels, click the Utility button, then click EPSON StatusMonitor. The Supply Levels button will not show remaining ink levels for your Epson printer.
