I have the same problem. Removed the ice maker and found it was frozen. Replaced the ice maker after thawing. Power light comes on, water come from dispenser on front of refrig but the ice maker does not fill. I waited about 5 hours thinking this would be enough time. Assuming the unit is bad at this point. Also having hard time finding location to purchase new ice maker.

See if there is a device the water goes into then another tubes come out and goes to the ice maker, that middle part is bad.

Water is no longer filling the ice maker

Either water line is clogged or water valve is got stuck closed.,

The ice maker not filling with water: ---

Its the problem of water inlet valve. It's a dual valve. This valve has two tubes in it. One for water dispenser and one for ice maker chamber. The one side of valve is working, but other side of the valve is not working. The valve is got stuck in one position

I have a whirlpool model ED25PWXBN00 refrig and the ice maker is making ice but the part that holds and dispenses the ice has broken and no longer dispenses ice. what part do i need?

That depends if the ice maker continues to fill with water or just sits there with the ice slots empty. Sometimes it is the dual water control valve=> 4318046 Water Control Valve
and sometimes the ice maker itself. Does not hurt to have an extra part of each if you are a ice user like myself. If ice slots are empty fill with tap water and allow to freeze. If the ice drops and slots do not refill with water then replace the dual water control valve. 4317943 Ice Maker Assembly.

Smeg FA561X ice maker not making any ice. Water dispenser is fine and rest of fridge/freezer fine, just no ice in the ice storage part

ice maker stopped making ice. For this problem you have check few things. First thing, is the water filling in the ice maker chamber and then ice maker not making ice? Or, the water is not filling in the ice maker chamber so it's not making ice. If the water is not filling in the ice maker chamber then it's clear that ice is not getting made due to no water in the chamber. For no water filling, the problem is either water supply valve turned off so water is not filling. Turn on the water supply and it will fill. But if the water supply is turned on then the other possibility is ice blockage in the water fill tube. There is a tube from which the water runs and enters the ice maker chamber. If this tube is blocked then water will not enter the chamber. The tube needs to be defrosted, by using hair dryer. This procedure melts the ice collected in the tube and water starts running again. But if water fill tube is completely clear and no ice blockage or any other blockage. Then other possibility is water valve at the back of ice maker unit. This water valve is for letting the water in the ice maker. The water valve open only for 7 seconds and in this time the water fills in the ice maker chamber and then water valve closes and the same procedure runs again in the next water filling cycle.------- In most of the cases the fault is water valve at the back of ice maker section, on some refrigerators the valve is at the lower section. ------------- The above possibilities which I gave you is water not filling in ice-maker chamber so it's not making ice. But now consider that water is filling in ice maker chamber but it's still not making ice. Then the problem is ice maker unit itself. This unit is controlled by main board. But in most cases if water is filling the ice maker but it's not making ice then its faulty ice maker unit. So see if the problem is water not entering the ice maker then the water fill tube is frosted by ice or the water valve at the back of ice maker is faulty. Replace the valve. ------------

Maytag sidebyside MSD2758DRW ice maker won't make ice

Hi,

If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.

On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice.

Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

Thanks

Ice maker no longer works. It has been working for years and all of the sudden the ice tray does not fill up with water, however the water dispenser dispenses water just fine....

The unit uses a dual water and possibly the side which supplies the ice maker has become defective. Also check to see if the fill tube has frozen.
