Lint filter seems to be stuck

I am having difficulty removing the lint filter in the dryer. I have to jiggle it back & forth before it will finally come out. It seems to be haning up on something. How can I fix this?

Thanks for the comment but I don't think this was the problem. My husband was actually able to remove the front cover of the dryer only to find that there was a belt of some sort in the way. I don't know how he fixed it but the lint filter now comes out very easily.

It sounds like you have a lot of lint buildup`the safest thing to do would be ,I know your not gonna like it . but take it to a professional and have it cleaned and serviced.lint buildup in dryers cause a lot of house fires.

thank you for listening.it is a good idea to have your dryer cleaned and checked at least every 2 years .depending on use.it will last you a lot longer.

My kenmore elite dryer that i bought 2 years ago lint trap corner is catching my clothes and tearing them. we had it replaced and its doing it again. I am tired of messing with it. Please help.

don't know if you already had this fixed, usually this is caused by not having your dryer cleaned out,the lint builds up inside the duct that the lint filter slides down into and has to be removed and cleaned out.also in some of the kenmore dryer ducts there's a metal clip inside the duct that can come loose and hold the lint filter up.these are the two most likely causes for this to happen.

I took out the lint filter to clean and it will now NOT slide back into the slot. It just stops about 1/4 of the way up the screen. This is the first time this has happended in the 2 years that i have owen...

you need to clean out the dryer or have someone come in to do it.unplug the dryer, remove the lint filter and then you have to remove the duct that the filter slides into and clean that but you have to take the dryer apart to do this, next you have to vac out the cabinet where the motor is and clean out the vent line,if it's a long run i use a leaf blower to do this, remove the vent line from the back of the dryer,go outside and make sure the vent is clear then go back inside stick the leaf blower into the vent line and blow all the lint outside.you have lint stuck in the tracks that the lint filter slides into, get a skinny long screw driver and poke out the lint,if you have an electric dryer you should do this once every two years if it's gas once a year so you don't have a fire, next time send the model number and the name of the machine you need help with so i can help you better,if you don't know how to take apart the dryer send the model number and i can help you but there is lint stuck in the tracks that the filter slides down into and if that's like that then you need to clean out the dryer

This morning my dryer stopped working when I put in a new load. It simply is not heating and the drum is not turning

YOU MAY HAVE A BREAKER PROBLEM. FLIP THE BREAKER BACK AND FORTH RAPIDLY. SECOND AND MOST COMMON THE WHITE THERMAL FUSE WITH BLUE WIRES TO IT HAS BROKE. LOCATED BEHIND THE LOWER FRONT PANEL. UNPLUG DRYER, REMOVE LINT FILTER, REMOVE LOWER PANEL, REMOVE THE LOWER DUCT ASSY. THIS IS THE PIECE THAT THE LINT FILTER GOES INTO. BEHIND THE DUCT IS THE WHITE THERMAL FUSE.

I have an asko dryer model t760 that overheated the other day. it did finally trip the overheat protection switch on the back, but it did get hot enough to distort a few plastic pieces and put flat spots...

Try taking the lint filter out and gently washing it with a soft scrubber. The screening is very fine and it might look clean to sight but might still need a more thorough cleaning.
