After I've already downloaded the disc that came with the printer, when I try to setup the printer, or scan, or print, or anything, I get an error message that says: "The item that you have requested requires a program that has been moved or deleted."

yes..that happens..comes from installing the drivers in a location, inconsistent with the usual protocol. Here's what you may want to do.
