Question about Maytag Atlantis MAV6000 Top Load Washer
I have a 7 year old Maytag "Ensignia" Top load washer that doesn't drain all the water out in the final rinse about half the time. The timer goes to the end but the washer remains full of water. I can manually turn it around to 'spin' again and it drains fine. Sometimes it does it on the first load of the day and sometimes it won't have any trouble til the third or fourth load. A friend said she had this same problem once and it was a bad motor. I don't want to spend that kind of money if that's not the problem. Thanks
During spin is the tub making a slight roaring sound? if so the tub bearing is going bad causing the motor to work harder than normal causing it to heat up. this motor has a thermal protector which shuts it down , although the power to the timer remains therefore the timer still advances. this will require a new bearing and seal kit.
