115 volt equals how many btu

Apples and oranges.
The 115 volts tells what "quantity" of electricity is needed to run the unit.
BTU's are the cooling capacity of the unit, which usually is about 5,000 for the smallest, up to about 18,000 for the largest.
Over 18,000 the electricity quantity is often boosted to 220 volts because of the larger size of the unit.

Need new power control unit plug old one into 220 volt instead of 110 volt. can power unit only bee replaced

If yo mean power socket, you can get it from electrical shop.

If you mean the input power, you have to use booster (Transformer_). 110vts to 220vts.

Thanks.

While running in a screw to install a new electrical outlet cover, the outlet made a small pop and the lights flickered but immediately came back on. I plugged in the unit to see if it worked and nothing...

You say the unit is 220 volt, but the plug you installed has a white wire which is normally on a 120 volt outlet. A 220 volt outlet would have 2 black wires and ground. If you do have 220 there, and the reset does no good, I've seen those resets(they are basically built in GFI) blow out and had to bypass/put different chord on. there are fuses on the control board but I would check that last

Is a Hampton Bay HBD240A window A/C 120v or 240v?

I have never seen a 240-volt window A/C unit for the U.S. market. So, my guess is it's 120 volt.

The best way to verify this is to read the name-plate on the unit.

Another way is to look at the plug on the unit's cord. There are at least three types of plugs :: 120 volt, 15 amp; 120 volt 20 amp; and 220 volt. 120 volt 15-amp will fit a standard household wall outlet. The 120 volt 20 amp plug is similar to a 120 volt 15 amp, but will not plug inot a standard household outlet. The 220 volt plug is altoghether different.

I have bard central unit model# a/c ph11361 blower not running

220 is just putting two 110 volt circuits together. You should read only 110 volts from each leg to ground. But you should read 220 between both legs. Measuring between two legs that are supposed to be 220 and you read nothing than you are not measuring the differences. This means you are only getting 110 volts. Check your units data plate and make sure you need 220. Usually the condenser fan on a split system is 110 volts and the condenser fan is 220 volts. Which motor are you checking?

It would be easier to change the 220 circuit in your house to a 110 by some creative work in the breaker panel and making it an air condtioner circuit only. You would need to check with an electrician, but would probably be worth it in the long run.

Circuit breaker

Happy to assist,

HOW MANY BTU IS THE AIR CONDITIONER?
And is it 110 or 220 line!

If it is using 110 or 115 volts like normal house current and it throws circuit breakers in your electric box, then you need to run a dedicated line just for the Air Conditioner!
Usually this happens to 110 -115 volt air-conditioners that are more than 12,000 BTU and do not have a dedicated electric line in the wall only for the air conditioner!

New air conditioners have a circuit breaker built into the units plug!
And I have seen some that throw that breaker to off frequently even if it's only an electric surge! Which it should not do!
if its the case and it's new, take it back to the store and ask for a different model, size, or brand!
Fedders had an 18,000 BTU/ 110-115 volt unit that did this with every single unit last year! I stopped selling that unit only!!

The outside unit refuses to come on resulting in no cooling in the inside

You have an electrical problem. It is either a lack of 220 volts getting to the outside half of the a/c or the 24 volt circuit not activating the contactor (big relay) that carries 220 to the compressor.

Frididaire AC Gallery need to change plug from 110 to 220 How to do this?

First check the name plate for the proper voltage. If it is rated for 115/120 volts there is no reason to change the plug and if done can result in burning out the unit.
