Printing compressed I have a Canon i550 printer, which prints part of a page, ejects that page, then prints part of the end of the document on another page. When I use the Bubble jet option, the print is compressed to 57%. Thank you in advance for your help!! I'm desperate!!! My name is Donna, email: [email protected]

Chikongji check the service manual if the problem is reported, my only idea about is that the encoder on the left side of the printer has some dirt on the transparent wheel.

For the service manual:

I've just acquired a 2nd hand Canon i550x printer with a PC setup running XP. The printer works but when printing a multiple page document only the first page prints and then the green light flashes...

Here is a possible solution.
Open 'Printers and Faxes' and right-click your printer. Select 'Properties' from the menu.
viscamtech_26.jpg

Select Paper/Quality tab. And from the 'Paper Source' select 'Auto feeder' or 'Auto' if 'Manual feed' is selected.
viscamtech_27.jpg

If Manual feed is selected, that means the printer is waiting for you to insert a paper for each page to print. That is why you get only the first page printed.
Good luck! And if this solves your problem, consider voting me.
Thanks for using FixYa!

More than one paper at a time

Are you saying that the printer pulls in too much paper at a time, or that it's actually printing on more than one page, even if you only want to do a single page? If it's pulling in too many pages, try fanning the paper. At times, especially in low humidity conditions, paper will tend to stick together and then several sheets get pulled into the printer. Fanning will often relieve the symptoms. Also make sure that the feed roller is clean. Use a cloth with some alcohol on it and rub the tire all the way around or as much as possible. See if that works.

Canon i550 doesn't print correctly

---Is the incrustation of the heads or the ducts such that I need to throw the i550 away

This one...

I had 3 Canon i550 and i560 printer, unfortunately if you use non original inks and leave the print head with no ink cartridge for some hours the ink can dry inside the print head = dead.

I have try several methods of cleaning print head and waste a lot of time on this, finally here some suggestions:
- use pure alchool (at least 90 °) to clean the print head, you can also use clear water but after you had to rinse with alchool because alchool removes the left water that can cause shortcircuit when you power on the print head.

- the electrical connections of the print head (brown ribbon with integrated circuit path) are very fragile if you decide to unmount the print head removing the 2 phlilips screws you must be VERY careful

- for black ,one safe trick is to remove the round (8 mm) glued upper metal sheet filter on the upper part of the print head where the ink cartridge sets. Once removed you can use a syringe needle filled with alchool to remove the dry ink and spray alchool into the small duct hole to remove all the bad dry ink. Be patien it will take some time. You can also leave the syringe filled wyth alchool and without the syringe piston for a night inside the duct hole.

Take a look to the service manual also for other inspirations:

Wont print

Hi, yes I have had problems with these HP printers B4 and it was in fact the INK... strange as it may seem, Ya gota have them "Full" as it were. I have "Fooled" it sometimes by removing the cartridge(s) and powering on & of re-inserting them. But eventually always ended up paying thru the nose for the cartridges. I saved a bit by using refilled ones, but I now use printers that have cheap single color ones, eg: Canon i550
