Acomdata hard drive Model HD320FES-72

Turned on the computer last week and it does not recognize my F: drive with the Acomdata firewire connection. Help! It has all my music. I have reconnected everything and restarted and sent several e-mails to Acomdata to no response.

SOURCE: Acomdata hard drive Model HD320FES-72

Sounds like the drive has seized spindle... Not good news.
Is it buzzing similar to any of these noises: http://datacent.com/hard_drive_sounds.php ?
What you should do is remove the internal drive from the enclosure and connect it directly to the computer. If still buzzing then it's a real mechanical problem...

Hello,
it is a known issue that these particular drives sometimes don't get recognized by the Operating System, after coming out of Sleep, Stand By, or Hibernation.
Simply try to disconnect and reconnect the drive again in the USB port, if this doesn't work then, Disconnect it from the USB and connect it to the Firewire. if this doesn't work then, Restart the computer.
It should solve the problem.

Either the hard drive is bogus or the electronics of the external adapter is the culprit. Take out drive and hookl directly to mo bo as a secondary drive. If recognized drive is ok and the box is at fault.

Acomdata HD500uhe5-72 cant be seen . on XP

Put it in the freezer overnight in a bag. For some reason it might be stuck in a read mode. Just because you did not tell windows to stop the drive does not mean you hurt it. When you go to use it again,
plug it in and turn it on, you should hear the drive start to spin, if not
you could shake it and see if it starts. Then after it is plunged in
and plugged into the pc, start the pc and wait till after windows is up and running, after 3mins, if not seen unplug, firewire and plug it back in and wait a few mins. If nothing, contact the company and see if it is still under warranty. I hope this helps you. Any other questions, please post back, everyone is more then happy to help you.

Try checking your power cord adapter.
I found the same problem was with the cord.
