Re: I just bought my sony playstation 3 the problem is...
- Connect your PlayStation 3 game console to your cable modem using an Ethernet cable. The length of the cable needed depends on the distance of your PS3 from your cable modem. The Ethernet cable plugs directly into the rear of your PS3 console, as well as the rear of your cable modem.
-
Power on your PlayStation 3 and your cable modem.
-
Move to the Settings option on the XMB (short for cross media bar--another name for the PS3's home menu).
-
Scroll down to Network Settings and press "X" on the controller.
-
Select the Internet Connection option and make sure it's set to Enabled. Then scroll down to Internet Connection Settings and press "X."
-
Select "Yes" when the console notifies you it will be disconnected from the Internet. Select the "Easy" setting method. Your PS3 will configure your settings automatically. Press "X" when prompted to save the settings and test the connection.
