Possible the drain hole inside (there for when it defrosts, and if there is one), is clogged. My main fridge just had that leaking issue caused by this. I used turkey baster to purge.
probably a blocked drain outlet or pipe. At the bottom rear of the unit, mine had a drain pipe blocked with a plug of mould (5/6 years old machine), apparently quite common. I detached the pipe and cleaned it out and replaced it.
From inside the freezer, I removed the lower back panel and thawed the ice build up on the drainage tray below the defrost heating element, leading to the pipe outside. The puddles of water that was appearing every defrost cycle have now stopped - permanently I hope. Hope this helps you
This issue is usually cause bya defrost problem. First thing that you need to check is the freezer area. Please look at the back panel inside the freezer. If you notice a frostcovering at the back panel, you have a defrost problem.
The only part inside the wholerefrigerator that "get cold" are the coils inside the Freezer. Thecoils need to stay free from excess frost build up so that air can pass throughthe coils and will reach the refrigerator section. The compressor and fans willshut off and machine will go into defrost mode every eight hours or dependingon the type of defrost timer or control you have.
When the refrigerator is indefrost there is a heater that is tied into the evaporator coils inside thefreezer that comes on. This heater is behind the rear panel inside the freezerwhere the evaporator coils are located. It melts the frost that has accumulatedover the course of time. After about thirty minutes the machine comes out ofdefrost and goes back to normal operation.
The first thing that you cando to get the machine running is to remove the rear panel of the freezer. Please remove all the frost ice that has built up. The best method is to pourhot water over the coils. The water will drain out the freezer through thedrain hole in the bottom of the freezer under the evaporator coils.
Once all the frost is gone, you could put the machine back together and it would work fine. For a few days, until the frost has developed again due to the defrost issue. That would onlybe a temporary fix.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
It can be due to an overflow of the drain tank that is at the rear bottom wherein when the defrost timer works , the frost condenses down to this tank.
It can also be a leak in the pipe line to the tank that causes the water to flow out.
It can be due to condensation within the door side that is flowing out., or even the collection tray leaking over , crust of frost falling out of the tray.
Something to try....on the back wall of the fridge nearer to the top is a little cup like part sticking out. There is water in it but it usually runs down an attached tube inside back wall and ends up under the fridge and gets evaporated. If that tube or the little cup thing is plugged then it will drip in the fridge and collect on the inside bottom of the fridge. So the trick is to clean them out. Check it out ...may solve the problem.
Good day, Sorry, no timer. This machine is run by a motherboard which gets it's data from a series of thermistors. The motherboard is located on the back rear of the machine behind a removable cover. In the freezer, behind the rear panel, is a main heater located at the bottom of the evap coil. As well there is a limiter thermostat located on the top of that coil. Either can go bad. To test you need an ohm meter and a decent knowledge of electrical. 2 thermistors are located in the same area. One helps decide when to defrost, and the other is used to control fan motor speed. (simplified). If you feel comfortable digging that deep, you can start testing, and/or removing suspected parts and taking them to an appliance parts house for testing. The motherboard is very pricey.
Look here if you want to see a breakdown of the machine.. Copy model number first.
I have the same problem. Engineer said most likely problem with insulation and since pipe is moulded onto the back, it cannot be fixed easily. Defrosting is a temporary solution only. Luckily I kept extended warranty going, they are going to replace it with a new one.
Defrost drain line in the freezer is frozen shut.
Remove the freezer panels.bottom and back panels.
Remove the visible ice.
Take a hair dryer and thaw the drain hole in the center rear drain trough.
firstly check that the inflow water pipes connected to the machine are connected correctly, feel around the pipes that touch the machine to see if there is any water. If there is the washers may need replacing on the pipe. Or the pipe may simply have got a bit loose through the machines spinning.
