It's a common fault with that model, if you start the copy and hear a loud zziiip noise it means the scanner transport has a problem. Time for a new machine as there are no parts available to fix that problem.

Get a black strip when I try to copy or fax a paper. Able to receive a fax without problems. Replaced drum and cartridge and cleaned what I could see, but strip is still there.

sorry but the drum has nothing to do with the SCAN problem, only for PRINTING problems, if you have a BLACK STRIP when you scan, you must check the SCANNING lamp for obstruction (liquid paper contaminant) on the scanning window or for other debrie that prevent the scanner to scan properly is it a dual feed??? (flat bed or top load)???

When using the top loader to make copies, the copies come out with a line down the whole sheet?

I fixing is verry simple.Open the top cover of the copier(where you are putting the paper you want to copy). There should be two glasses(One big and one smaller wich is under the top loader). You need to clean the little glass from any dirt.Even a small peace of dirt can make a whole line on the paper, beacuse the scanner is not moving, but the paper is.So clean the little glass(wich is next to the big one and the line will be gona.replay if you need any futher help. Please vote if that was helpfull!!

Hello, i keep getting error #6 message on my printer...i clean the glass both top and bottom with a micro-fiber cloth with no results

What do you mean "top and bottom"? Are you removing the glass from a flat bed printer and cleaning the bottom side?

Please clarify if this is an all in one machine or provide the model number so I can give more detailed information.

If its an HP printer with a flat bed (printer that you place the paper on the glass in order to scan, copy or print) then the place you need to clean that it is refering to is not the glass where you place your document. It is a small square of glass that is usually under the rollers off to the side on top of the flat bed area. You should be able to put your hand under the hood of this area and pull upwards to release it. You will find the small piece of glass to clean under the rollers right there. Wipe it off and this should solve your problem. After wiping it, unplug the printer from the computer and power supply for a couple of minutes. Plug the power supply back in before connecting to the computer and allow the printer to warm up and then connect to the computer. This should remove the error code.

Whats the scan platform

Scan platform in english is Were you shove the stuff to send ;) ie dirty feed roller, paper detect switch stuck or fragments of paper in original feeding paper path area or feeding stuff too thick or stiff, or if multi document issue it is the pad or roller that sits under the main feed roller...al this is nothiong to do with paper tray full of blanks it is the original feeler area on top..

Same error should occur doing local copy, check feed section/roller

Black line appears on copies fed through automatic top loader

Clean the scan glass, there is lilely a spot or streak on the glass, use a good glass cleaner and soft cloth or paper towel.

Hope this is of some help.

Chews up paper while printing then jams paper.

Top loader or bottom loader? Ink-jet, dot-matrix or Laser? All have different reasons. Most common are ink-jets. Most common are top loaders. Most common cause is cheap paper. Buy ink-jet paper. Most people buy cheap copy paper (20#). Buy a good 25# or heavier paper to keep that from happening (especially w/ top loaders). People always worry about that extra dollar or two for paper, but it take an average of 10ml of ink to print 300 pages. That's 1 cartridge ($10 to $20 dollars) for less than 1 package of paper ($3 to $5).
