System wouldn't power up and when i replaced the power supply it now powers up without pushing the power button but does not even enter bios (screen is blank as if no output). Won't spin up or read Windows install disk. System is a gigabyte GA-8Ipe1000 motherboard- have tested cpu, dvd drive, and video card in similar sister pc system. Have not swapped out case or motherboard. Can this be a corrupt bios and can I reload without at least loading bios. thanks David A.

You've probably reset the bios, so we won't belabor the point. Sounds like the motherboard is toast. You replaced the power supply, and that was probably the culprit, but it took out the MB as well.

A 478 board is older, but you should be able to eBay one with similar specs.

Video adaptor giving beep code on post Asus M/B M2NPV-VM 1 long then 2 short beeps also has a usb over current issue at post but has no usb pluged in. please help me decifer this. thanks in advance troy

This is a fix that worked for me, however I cannot tell you why or even feel that I had done anything which would constitue this as a fix. I leave my PC on 24-7 and came in one morning and it was locked up. Couldn't get a video screen, not even reset worked so I threw the power switch on the back of the power supply. Turned the switch back on and pushed the power up button. The MoBo started 1 long and 2 short beeps, repeating. I pushed the reset button and same thing. I again turned the power supply off, then on again and same thing with the beeps. So this time I turned the power supply off then also un-plugged the power cord to the power supply. I left it that way for maybe 10 minutes, while I did a few other things. I plugged the power cord back in, turned the power supply back on and hit the power up button. My PC booted up...no problem. ???

Point is - this issue as reported by others may just be a hardware or bios fluke and needs a power reset or maybe even clearing the bios and restarting. Reseating the memory sticks, use just one memory stick and rotate the memory sticks to sort out the possible bad one and reseating the processor may also help.

ASUS Z91H PUSHED POWER BUTTON BUT WITHOUT DISPLAY

Try pressing the power button and press [del] button. See if it goes to the bios setup page. If it does, have your harddisk checked. It could be corrupt OS or problem with your harddisk.

New system build, shuts off after 10 seconds

If you have had this problem sence the system was built and your power supply is less then 400 Watts. You will need a 400 Watt power supply or higher. Check the specs for our motherboard.
