Zebra P330i Black ink covering surface of card

    My zebra p330i prints half the card and rest halg is all black.

We have the same problem with our 330i !!

I updated the firmware to V1.16.11 and the printer drivers as well, then I started the cleaning process.
The printer has printed only 337 cards, so it is rather new.

All monocolor printed cards are ok (black, gold,...), but not even one 4color card.
It looks like the sync of the colorribbon does not work properly.
Is there a possibilty to check the sensors or are perhaps informations about the sensors on the cardtest-card ?

You need to ajust the print head. the print head is not calibrate.
1st you have to free the print head on the screw on the left of the print head, then move the screw from the front off the print head (very slowly move 1/4 from the left and test again, then move a litle more and test, if worst, try other way, keep trying, but have to be carfull, because the spring can go out.

Sorry just to confirm, after the cleaning cycle, the display asks you to put the ribbon back in the machine.

This is the YMCKO, i series ribbon.

The system then goes through a "RECALIBRATE" cycle to allign the colours.

When you look at the transfer head you should see a white/orange light and a blue light these are the sensors.

Once the cycle is finished try a TEST CARD, press the front button and then switch on the power and hold for 10 secs.

Had the same problem!!

Solution, update the Firmware on the printer from zebra.com to latest version, 1.16, also update printer driver on the PC.

When updated switch off, install the drivers etc and start the cleaning process.

Press front button for 2/3 secs and then use the cleaning cards, 1 is like standard cards and the other is the long card.

After cleaning the printer with "RECALIBRATE" with the multi ribbon.

After this everyting is OK.

I think the constant changing of ribbons etc can put calibration out and the new firmware addresses this.

Printing from coreldraw 5 to zebra p330i


Sounds as though your printer is dirty, there are unfortunately no different color matchin schemes for this particular printer. The printer operates on an RGB interface, even though it prints using YMC. As far as the speckled look, this typically is due to dust during printing.

Install the driver again.
go to the driver and send the command "R"
and "!SA"
if not working, flash the firmware. (www.zebra.com) have to be the especific firmware

My zebra card printer p330 i donbt recognized the colour ribbo YCMK, only detect the mono ribbon


The P330i is not supposed to work with the YMCK color ribbon, you should use the YMCKO 800015-440 color ribbon.

lose the two screws from the front plate, put a card under the printhead, ajust the plate on tope of the card, tie the screws. send a command !SA from the driver, and print a test card (send IM command)

How do I replace the printhead on a Zebra P330i card printer


If there is a problem with the printhead you have to send it back to Zebra for repair. The zebra website has info on how to send back printers for service.

I can't manage to print Black PVC cards, in my Zebrea P330i... Error message: "Out of Cards"


There's a small laser inside the printer -- it reflects light, and measures the strength of the reflection. The BLACK is absorbing all of the laser-energy, resulting in the same measurement as if *NO* cards were loaded into the tray. Try GREY PVC cards.

Keep getting broken ribbon message on zebra P330i printer


Hello, assuming the supplies are Zebra and there is no discernible damage to the ribbon, it could mean that the ribbon sensor on the printer is broken. if your printer is still under warranty you can ship back to Zebra (Illinois) to get it repaired. The zebra website has info on how to return printers for service. Hope this helps.

Card cutting ribbon on Zebra P330i


On the front of the head. 4 screws are there.
Near the head where the ribbon contacts the card.
Loosen the top 2. Let the metal guard slide down a bit. Tighten the screws. Try a card.
Keep adjusting the guard until you tune it right.
