Hi there...
You may try to : shut the PC down..in the front of the CD drive there is a little hole..usually on the right, get a large paper clip, straighten it and slowly inset it in the hole..make sure it is going in straight.
Push of the paper clip and the door should open.
Note: when you turn the pc back on the door will close. Make sure there is nothing stuck..like a cd.
Hope this helps,
Squipps

You can find a small hole at the front side of your cd drive , carefully insert any pin inside this hole and press it , your cd drive door will open.

Some time holding the cpu in 90 degree angle while system is on and pressing the eject button releases the cd door.

Aver DVD Veriton 5800 dvd door will not open. do not see a pinhole. tried opening from computer start did not work either

sir the pin hole is the best solution but since u r unable to find it then the only solution remains to unscrew the DVD and check the door opening belt is not broken\stuck... just move it a little bit and the hatch may open... but before going through it please try to strike ur DVD with your hands a little bit while pressing the eject button repeatedly... this might help in moving the stuck belt inside... rate this solution if you watch awesome movies on your newly repaired DVD
regards....

Although no paper seems stuck in the printer the display keeps repeating paper blocked

Although you didn't mention what type of printer, most of the time that I have seen this error it has been a paper issue. It can be the tiniest of pieces of paper that has torn off and gotten stuck somewhere inside the printer. It can also be a small piece of a label if you use the sticky labels in your printer.
If you have done everything to clear the paper path, opened the doors, and pulled out the trays, you may want to try spraying some canned air into the printer to see if anything comes loose. The only other way I have been able to fix this issue is to tear apart the printer and find the tiny piece of paper.

DVD Drive door will not always open. No obstructions. DVD Drive light flashes, but door will not open. Is ther some software conflict?

The door drive motor may be frozen.
  1. Shut down the computer and unplug it.
  2. Open the computer casing to access the DVD drive from inside.
  3. Disconnect the cable on the DVD drive leaving only the power supply connected to it.
  4. Turn on the computer.
  5. Push the OPEN/CLOSE button on the DVD drive. If it does not open, the drive is broken or the door drive motor is defective. If it opens, push the button repeatedly to open and close the door repeatedly to release any frozen part.
  6. If the door does not stuck anymore, shut down the computer.
  7. Reconnect the cable and turn on the computer.

Cd tray stuck open presario sr1103wm

If the computer is under warranty still I would contact Compaq for a replacement drive.

Generally when the drive door is stuck open it is not a good sign, the drive door is gear operated and it opened and does not close with light touch, then there is a problem with the drive mechanism.

If it is out of warranty then you can purchase a new drive for the computer at a local retailer or online.
the drive appears to be a standard IDE drive.

Toshiba laptop A130/A135

Try this disconnect laptop from power, remove latop battery. Wait ten mins and connect everything back.

If the problem is that dvd is stuck inside use a pin or a staple , stick it into the emergency opening hole until it opens the door on dvd drive on laptop.
