When tv is powered on tv only displaying channel number and sound -no raster. using video mode displays are ok. sound is also ok

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Sony tv black screen

Repairing a TV set is actually a skilled work. If you're not sound in electronics, make sure, that you can't do it; especially to Sony sets. If the set switches ON; with audio output OK, and there is no Video, surely the fault should be with its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check that circuit for fault. To get more details,

our tv set need to be serviced. Here are some tips:
1. Open main fuse. The fuse is clean but interrupted. You can try replacing it with one o the same value.
2. Fuse Blown or blackened. Short in the rectifier bridge or in the switching transistor. Out of the power supply: supply line rectifier (100/150V) shorted.

What do i do if the picture on my tv is good but i don't have sound?

Check first whether mute function is ON or not. If it is ON, make it OFF. If mute is OFF and still there is no sound from your TV, connect it to any other audio output sources, like an external amplifier or so, by connecting TVs external audio out sockets at its back and see whether there is sound output form amp. If not, make sure that the audio processing section circuits inside your tV is fulty. If there is soudn from amp, and not from the TV, check the speaker of the TV. If it is ok, then audio output section circuit of your TV is faulty, and need repair. OK.

No Display, no sound- not working, showing dead. But input Power is ok. Picture tube filamment not getting power. model sony KV-2192M3

Check the input fuse first. If it is blown, there will be some short inside the power regulator circuit. Usually Sony sets uses STR regulated power supply. You can see this STR, and Ic, screwed onto a heatsink. Replace it with a same type and number. Before replacing the STR, check the diodes used in that section for damage, mainlu zener diodes. They might get shorted along the blowing of the STR. Check that section throughly before resoldering the new STR.
If any further assistance you needs, get me through Fixya. Ok.

I push the on button the red light comes on, tv makes clicking sound, screen does nothing. TV has no static. I checked fuses. what should i do next?

If it is a CRT type tv. Could be the start up circuit is failing. Check it using remote to turn on the tv. If nothing happens check the fuse if ok, then you may have start up problem or, faulty high voltage section. But clicking sounds may indicate you have standbye voltage.

If you can isolate the B+ supply you can check the specified voltage if whether in spec. Then if ok then Horizontal output transistor or the flyback or other minor component like diode and the capacitor.

If you are not inclined on electronics better not mess with it. It will bite. Have a repairer check that.
