Why is my ink light on a steady red? I have new Epson ink cartridges in it and it has also been cleaned.

sometimes the printer does not recognize that you have changed inks, however check that they are in correctly and are full, check status monitor and check ink levels on screen. As a last resort, turn printer off wait a few seconds and then turn on again.

Can't find ink levels in windows 8

download the driver from epson.
For example I downloaded epson375130eu for a stylus dx4450.
then right click on the downloaded file and select "solve compatibility problems", select fix the program, select program was working with previous windows versions, select xp.
you should be able to have the ink levels. At least it worked for my dx4450

Using non Epson inks.

I have a similar problem. I accept the Epson notice that a non-standard cartridge is in place, but it still refuses to work.

The epson dx4450 does not recognise brand new cartridges, somebody have an idea?

Hi there you can download this from my website.
Main features.
SSC Service Utility allow you to do many amazing things with Your Epson printer :
1) Work directly with CSIC in Epson Stylus printers cartridges.
2) Reset or rewrite any chip using special addon device.
3) Freeze internal ink counters.
4) Reset internal ink counters even with empty cartridges.
5) Separate cleaning of color and black heads for all Epson inkjet printers, powerful cleaning mode.
6) Hot swapping of cartridges supported.
7) Resetting of protection counter (even then it is already full).
8) More then 100 different Epson printers supported
This allow many people with high printing demands to save some money (program works with both black and color cartridges).
Up to day this software works under Windows 95/98/ME/2K2/XP with both the LPT and USB printers.

Epson stylus DX4450 i have changed the ink and the ink button the red light is still on and it will not let me print?

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?
Epson Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. That sounds like your problem. Also in Purchasing the Brother's . Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.
These printers have a chip, that will detect if it is Generic or Genunie. When using Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, but you have to fill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. Don’t waste too much ink in cleaning it.

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

My Epson DX4450 is playing up. I have used some

I took all the inks out - and holding a cloth over the hole at the bottom shook them and then wiped the contacts with paper towels.

Replaced the contacts and left overnight for ink to charge

This morning working fine - mind you it was Friday 13th

Hello i changed the ink in my epson stylus dx4450 however the ink light is still on and it still wont print. i tried turning it off at the plug but still wont work

It seems that the connection on the cartridge and the printer are not proper. Remove the cartridge and clean the connectors on the cartridge and the printer. Also remove the tape on the print head.

Ink cartridge

The access door for the cartridges in on the front right corner of the printer. Put your hand on the side of the printer, (Just around the corner), you will feel a spot to put your fingers to pull down the access door. It is well hidden, what where they thinking? From there it is really easy to just pull down the printer doors and change the ink cartridges.

Good luck to all!
