Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I have problem with my sansa e260 mp3 player...got any idea on it??...my player stuck on refreshing database...i've read all the possible solutions on the forum but still aint working..im from phillipines...maybe you live here in the philippines but your nationality is different from ours..i can tell by seeing your face..thanks in advance..kidnly help me..please??

Most problems with Sansa e200 series MP3 players stem from nearly filled memory. What happens is if there are too many entries in the root directory, the newer files sometimes overwrite part of the older files and at worst some of the essential files to make the unit work, in brief some files may already have been corrupted. In some instances, this could also be brought about by constant formatting, deleting files or adding new files. Of course any other action could probably cause this problem.
A couple of things you can try:
a. do a soft reset - press on the Power/Menu for 15 seconds;
b. do a full settings reset - Main Menu/Settings/Reset All;
c. do a Format - Main Menu/Settings/Format but all in the internal memory will be erased;
If the above will not work, you can also try:
1. download and run in your PC Sansa Connect Recovery Tool
2. read the How to use the Sansa Connect Recovery Tool and follow the instructions carefully;
3. doing #1 will erase the corrupted files, unfortunately so will everything else. It will then restore the device software to an uncorrupted state.

There isnt a format option under your device...in order to format your device you need to use windows media player or you can use my computer to format your device and update the firmware...The link to update the firmware is
To format your device using window media player
connected to the computer
At the top of windows Media Player select the Sync tab at the top
The MP3 player should be recognized on the right hand side and say "Your Player Name"
. Above the player name is a button that says "Format Storage Media" click this button to erase all the data from the player
5. Continue with the acknowledgement of erasing all data on disk.
