Question about Panasonic Panafax UF-585 Plain Paper Laser Fax

1 Answer

Rcv to memory password

I never had a password setup for rcv to memory. We recently had a power outage and when the power came back on it only received to memory and I am unable to access our documents. Is their anyway to remove the password or reset it without the password??

On the Panafax UF-585 using "function 8-5 set 3 set" it is supposed to print if their is no password. If their is a password, it then asks for it. That is what happens to me. I have also tried the start and copy button. Thanks anyway

In order to turn off the receive to memory it forces you to input the password before being able to make a change for security purposes. I also tried unplugging the machine and removing the backup battery hoping it would reset system to default settings but that didn't work either. Thanks

No 2 manufacturers use the same method. However it is unlikely that you need a password. To print the contents of the SAF memory, it requires a simple procedure. Either there is a resume button, or sometimes use the copy button or the start/copy button. Let me know which machine it is.

OK now we are talking the same language.Set receive to memory option to off, then change the password. Function 5 set 2 set.

Now try and print out documents. With Function 8 5 Set 3 Set

I have the same problem. But now the machine is set to receive to memory and I can't change that without the now corrupt password. Can't turn off receive to memroy to change the password, without the password! Catch-22.
