just check the vcr system in your tv try to change it between pal ,secam, ntsc or try to m ark it as auto if your tv support auto system picture and that happen because maybe your dvd and wii games vga card support one of these vcr color system
ok alot of people wrote a review to other questions similar to this one.. and they forget one key instruction. it has to be the play button on the dvd side of the combo player physically not the remote you press and hold the actual play button on the device for 5 or more seconds and the light will turn off. Then it we play and there will be a picture on the screen.. i hope this helped because that is how i fixed mine.
The TV needs to be on channel 3 not channel 3.1 because is a digital channel and the signal from the VCR is analog. Tune the TV to channel 3 to get the analog video from the VCR.
There should be a DVD/VCR button on the remote control which will toggle the machine from one playback source to another. If she has pressed the VCR button then the machine will only playback tapes & not show DVD's. Press this button & the DVD's should play. If you look closely at the front window of the machine it will show what mode it is in ie VCR or DVD, set this for the DVD to get it to play.
On the back of your AVR (audio video receiver) where you connect a DVD, VCR or any other component. Example if there are open component jacks where you would connect a VCR just plug in the Yellow, Red and White cables. Turn your AVR to the source you connected to and turn on the TV. It should then play thru the speakers and be seen on the TV. Treat it just like a DVD player or any input source.
