Does the 3M 8647 Projector requires a UPS for proper shutdown

Kindly intimate me that whether the 3M 8647 Projector requries a UPS for proper shutdown. I was informed by someone that the Projector should not be turned off immediately without proper shutdown as it may harm the Projector lamp. If at all it requires UPS for proper shutdown the what's the exact VA to be considered. Should we opt for 500 VA or for 1200 VA UPS.

Look at the amount of va the projector can handle and then decide from there on

Firstly you need to check the amount of VA the projector can handle and then it will be much easier to decide. But never just unplug or disconnect your projector it will be damaged.

Black dots projected on my 3m scp716 projector

Actually, this is a known issue with this specific model as 3M has acknowledged. We bought 4 of these and 3 have had to be replaced in 3 years because of this exact issue. It requires the mainboard to be replaced and it is almost as expensive to do this as to buy a new unit. 3M has been know help to us on this even through we bought the entire setup (Projector, Arm, Smartboard) and spent over $15000.

Hello
the problem is with overheating. Look whether the cooling fan doesn't work or air filter is cloggy with dust. OK.

We have a 3M S20 multimedia projector which is giving off a pink light.

Try replacing input cable or recheck that it's seated properly. (loose/bad cable will produce similar symptoms)

I have purchased an used MP7630 projector. How do you start running an MP7630 projector. Do I need software for it as well the leads.

You should just require the leads as when you plug your pc into it if the resolution is set correctly, will produce a picture.

This projector turns off while watching. Is this problem with lamp? do i need to replace the bulb?

Do check whether the fan is working properly. The shutdown might be due to overheating of the high intensity bulb. To replace the fan is much cheaper than the bulb. Check it out first before you replace the bulb.

Check for corrosion where the bulb sits in. Is there a fuse required. Make sure you handle the buld with cotton gloves (oil from hands not good) Let me know if that works.
