Hi,
I am one of Dell Certified System Expert.
For your issue, I have few suggestion.
1. Try to reinstall the modem and re-configure the modem again.
2. Try to connect your modem to a different computer to check if it will work
3. If your plug-in modem had a sim card try it to your phone to check signal and network.
if problem persist my suggestion is to contact verizon.
go to device manager , click on networks
uninstall the wireless network card , go to support.dell.com
update the latest wireless drivers for your wan card , restart the system it will start working
first of all you need to check with your internet provider to see what modem you can use. a wirless 802.11g card (the farthest range) if your provider has a wirless modem i would get it from them. and a wirless modem/router. i use bellsouth wirless dsl and bought the equipment from them. if you have a wirless modem/ router already then you just need the card and configure it.
It's just a regular modem, LiteOn is name brand, just like Conexant. Also, modems are used for dialing on a land line, and must be connected or hardwired to a land line, there is no such thing as a wireless modem, however there are modems that can communicate with computers through wireless receivers, but they are not considered wireless modems, they're considered and called wireless capable modems. These are generally found in high end office fax machines.
If your talking about a internal modem on your pc follow this: Right click My computer>properties>hardware>device manager>check now if you can see anything about a modem that is not installed properly, if that's the case you just need to reinstall the driver for it.
