Question about Canon PIXMA iP3000 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Paper transport is failing

I have also a problem with the paper feed. With plain paper there is no problem but with photo paper 180 gr. the transport is failing. Then I have to pull the paper out of the printer and try it again. Sometimes the print is o.k. after 3 efforts (My English is not very good so I find it difficult to explain.) I think that paper of 180 gr. is too thick voor the printer.

Hello,
You need to clean the paper feeder to remove a film of dirt that is causing the problem, also bend the thick paper on the edge of where the portion is inserted to ease the stress of taking the paper in... Lubricate the gears and traction mechanisms of the paper feeder to function properly and to last longer...

Hope this Fixya the problem... Goodluck

Help my hp envy 5530 printer is printing a4 pictures at funny angles. It is fine with plain paper it is just with the a4 photo paper.

Photo paper is heavier gauge and this may be showing a problem with the transport or pickup rollers and these may need cleaning.

Paper transport works not properly, 3 flashes orange LED

Hi,
First make sure the printers well connected and the power supply properly plugged.
  • Remove any previously loaded paper.
  • Check out the printers Auto sheet feeder/front feeder for any paper jams and remove manually any visible stuck papers.
  • Turn the printer off and on.This also helps in automatically removing any stuck papers that may not be manually removed.
  • Make sure there is no foreign objects in the Auto sheet feeder.
  • Make sure you load a fair amount of plain papers in the feeder, that is,reduce by half the amount you feed into the feeder.
  • In case the printers rear cover had been removed, fit it properly by pressing it firmly until it fully fits into the rear of the printer.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

Plain paper feeds no problem but photo glossy paper wont feed! (epson 830)

Hi

This looks to be a problem with the paper pickup roller. Hence use a little thin Photo paper or replace the Pickup roller and also the Paper feed toller (Long black roller )

The photopaper tray goes in, but the printer feed cant grab the paper. it is the correct direction, so i don't know whats going on.

Sometimes the printer does not feed the paper because it is too thick. Try to check the GSM of the photo paper, it should be 180 or 235.

IT WILL NOT PULL THE PAPER INTO THE PRINTER

Feed guide roller worn, or not making contact with paper in the path, or failed microswitch that detects the paper and initiates the paper transport process

Paper feeds crooked then jams?Used less paper different paper it just pulls the paper in unevenly the jams. Help

Check feed roller for contamination, fan the paper to seperate sheets and then make sure that you are using paper of the following standard:
Paper Type Thickness Weight Single sheets
(plain paper) 0.003 to 0.004 inch
(0.08 to 0.11 mm) 17 to 24 lb
(64 to 90 g/m²)

Make sure you are using paper supports and feed guides.

I can print on plain paper but when I use photo paper it tells me there is a JAM although the paper is barely in the printer.

Do not mix photo paper in the feed with any other type paper. Also, when you attempt to print, specify what type of paper you will be using to print pictures. Plain paper usually prints with no problems.

Not printing glossy A4 paper / paper jam / no paper feed

dont use thick photo paper like 230 gsm up, instead use 180 gsm papers. but if you dont want to waste the purchased thick photo papers, you can open the back and manually insert the paper once the printing process started. i tried this as a trial & error basis until i had perfected it.... hope it works with yours.

Is there a way to feed photos through the feeder without getting stuck for the Brother 780N? Adapter, different direction, etc.

There's no good way to feed photos on the Brother. It's designed for plain bond paper and doesn't do well on photos at all.
