Question about NEC MultiSync VT540G Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Fan Error Hi, I have just been reading the manual regarding a Fan error I have. When I turn the projector on it automatically turns it's self off after about 1min and then I get the Status light blinking red every 8 seconds and the Power light on a constant orange. According to the manual this is the error message for a fan problem. Can anybody please tell me how I would go about fixing this error. Many Thanks Alan Tweddell

Please contact the supplier for support under warranty.

If not under warranty, do check the power for the fan, after opening the outer case

Please disconnect the main power before opening :)

Try to tell me.... whether my suggestion was useful???

Bye

:)

Have a nice day.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

Projector doesn't show image.

Projectors sometimes give error codes to help you figure out what might be wrong with it. Read the user manual for your projector if you have it, or look for the manual online. See if it has a "troubleshooting" or "maintenance" section. Projectors often give error codes in the form of blinking lights. The color of the lights and their blinking pattern help you to diagnose the problem. Without knowing the make/model of your printer, that's my best suggestion.

Red power, blinking red temp

Hi,

if the Lamp error and Temperature error lights are flashing red this means that there are two separate errors.

  • A flashing lamp light means the lamp failed to ignite. It could be a lamp driver problem or lamp failure. Replace the lamp to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, then service the projector.
  • A flashing Temperature light signals a fan error. Turn the projector off and allow it to cool down. If the light is still flashing after the projector is turned back on, service the projector.
Goodluck..

Why does my Mitsubishi XD221U projector click and blink red/green on the power light when turned on?

All projectors run a self diagnosis when you press the power button. This does a kind of "pre flight check". If some component isn't working right then the projector won't fire up.

There's no mystery to these status lights. The answer to what they show is written in the manual. Sorry to be blunt, but if you had bothered to read your manual then you would know that red green flashing power light means that the lamp housing cover isn't closed properly. If it is the status light, then it means that the lamp has gone past its due time for replacement. I only know this because I read the bit in the manual just now about the Status Lights.

Infocus IN1 Gaming Projector

Hi, I just bought the same projector Infocus IN1 and after just 15 minutes of use it turned off due to overheating. It seems that the lamp is very ineffecient and produces too much heat. The ambient temperature in the room is only 16 deg. celcius.

The solution I came up with is to have a standing fan blowing air directly on the back of the projector from less than a foot away. The standing fan which we usually use here in summer was enough to keep the projector cool. The infocus IN1 did not switch off for the next 2 hours (the entire length of the movie), until i turned it off myself. I am not sure how this system will fare in summer when the room temperature reaches 30 deg. celcius.

Warning lights

Just so you know guys (and this procedure is not for the faint hearted!). I had the slow one second red warning light flash. I checked the bulb, which was find and I left it powered off for 48 hours. My projector is no longer under warranty and would have cost me over £300 to have it looked at. I ventured inside to inspect the boards, once I removed the main board to check the power supply I heard movement from one of the light ducts. It took me a while to removed enough to discover the fixing screw which holds the imaging cube in place (which is between the 3 light ducts and the projector lens) had come out (!?) and was rolling around inside the unit. This would also explain why sometimes I could not focus my unit properly. I remounted the imaging cube, put the whole thing back together and PRESTO! My projector is working again.
