Hi its Darran at Dyson.

To empty your DC05, press the button on the top of the machine at the front of the carrying handle to open the lid. Then lift off the cyclone top and bin assembly. Over a dustbin, press the button on the front of the cyclone/bin assembly to separate the two sections. You can then tip the contents of the bin directly into the dustbin.

For full step by step instructions on how to empty the bin, please visit www.dyson.co.ukl/support.

Kind regards
Darran

Instruction manual is lost how can i get a new one?

Dyson has the manuals for some of their products on their product support page. See http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc05/dc05-absolute and look on the right hand side of the page. The direct link to the manual is http://www.dyson.co.uk/medialibrary/Files/Dyson/Support/downloads/UK/floorcare/Manuals/dc05_uk_manual_120710%20pdf.pdf . If you have a different DC05 model start here: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/cylinders.aspx and select your specific vacuum. (The manual appears to be the same.)

I hope this helps.

Dyson dc05 electrical fault

Hi Helen,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC05. From what you've described, it sounds as if the machine may have overheated in use - this will occur if the filter needs a wash, or if the machine has a blockage. You should find the machine will run again after it's had at least two hours to cool down, but to prevent this from reoccuring, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc05/dc05-standard/my-machine-is-not-working/power-failure

If you'd like any further assistance or advice, please give our Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298. Calls are free from UK landlines, and the Helpline is available from 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week.

Weak suction on dyson dc05. The suction is not as good as usual

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Try washing your pre filter and checking the machine through for a blockage. These are the most likely causes.

A full blockage procedure and filter washing instructions can be found at www.dyson.co.uk/support.

What tool do I need to open a Dyson DC05??

What tool do I need to open a Dyson DC05??
Posted by fixdaddy on Apr 24, 2008
I have a DC05 vacuum cleaner with a few minor problems which I am sure could
easily be fixed if I could open it up. The problem is that the fasteners
(presumably screw heads) are recessed so deeply in the plastic moldings
that I cannot reach them with any tools to find out whether I have the right
one.
Has anyone on this vacuum ever successfully serviced a DC05 to know what
tool is needed so I could buy one.
Thanks in advance

How to remove wheel to access cable storage area? Then ... How to replace electric cable.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I checked with some of my contacts in the vacuum business and they told me that it may not be a United States vacuum and it might be a Canadian or European vacuum and may not be customer friendly to service, if you have a contact with a MAC or Snap On dealer or a metric auto store – show them the screw and they might have something to fit or release the screw head, as per the removing of the wheel and replacing the electric cable, check with your local vac dealer or you may want to check with the Dyson dealer website and or phone # listed below:
