Got exactly the same problem with mine. Manual says f28 = fault in gas supply, gas pressure too low. Boiler will ignite but goes out within minutes? HELP!

Managed to fix my problem! Despite the error message about gas flow it was actually a blocked condensation pipe (Frozen). I guess because of the exceptionally cold weather this week. Anyway defrosted the outside pipe with a kettle and emptied the condensing reservoir of the boiler and restarted and now working fine.

Due to the cold weather the outlet pipe had frozen solid, 10 mins with hot water and the kettle and about 2L of water gushed out!, the boiler restarted and all OK.

After trying many combinations of various button pressing on the front of the boiler a friend of mine suggested checking that the gas meter was ok and after realising the boiler went off around the same time I'd put the hoover back under the stairs (where the gas meter lives) I noticed that I'd simply knocked the lever into the off position.......Der ! Might be worth a try?

I had the same problem and instead of the hoover it was a shoe in the shoe cubbord. The gas leaver was turned off by accident and Vailant shut itself down for safety. Turned the gas leaver on again and all is back to normal. I was definately worth the try. Thanks.

Thank you Regmeister for your advice about checking the Gas lever,, mine is not clear when it is on or off, I was getting the F 28 and F29 on my new Combination Valiant Ecotec Boiler, But after reading your post, I went back and started the boiler without changing the lever and it worked...Thank you again, you saved me stress and money, I hope there is no other faults and that it will work fine, I will make a note of the on and off positions of the Gas lever, not to make the same mistake again... Vallaint atmo tec pro f.28

Not my area of expertise (Computers is), HOWEVER am a General Contractor, and I listen to my sub's. (Subcontractors; i.e, HVAC, Carpenters, Plumbers, Electricians, Roofers, etc)

DON'T turn it off, or remove from power. You'll delete the fault code.

Write down the fault code F.28.

Call an experienced HVAC company to fix.
(Heating, and Air Conditioning)

If you turn the power off to it, or mess with it, you could loose the fault code for the repairman.

This means he/she stands around until it comes back, (They get paid by the hour), or comes back the next day, or when possible.

HVAC people get swamped this time of year. It may not be a next day return. Could turn into MANY days later.
Do not remove fault code.

Hi i get fault 28 on my vaillant boiler

F-28 is a common error for my vaillant. I have had this problem serviced at least 10 times (all under warranty). It is an ignition problem and can be connected to a number of things. I have had the starter electrodes cleaned only to later have them replaced(4 times). I just had the "panel" replaced yesterday (looks like a motherboard or electronics panel). This is the second time to have this replaced. All of these things can give you an F-28 error message. I have an atmotech pro and have had ongoing F-28 issues for two years. They are looking at venting/air issues as well to see if this is the problem. douglas

Leaking from underneath pump could it need new

A notebook with water cooling? Neat!
I figure however that you really wanted to know about a water pump in a vehicle. Buy a rebuilt water pump since most have been pressed together and replacing an individual O ring is often not practical.
That leak was designed in so when the inevitable happens, the coolant runs out and gets no chance to invade the oil system.

Vaillant eco tec pro 28

IF the weather is extremely cold, and you're getting F28, the external pipework may be blocked with ice. Warm up the external pipes (lag them if you can) - and now see if your boiler will re-ignite.

A friend fixed our condenser boiler with this tip - hope it helps you.
