You will have to contact dell regarding the downgrade option for the Bios. Or do a search on google. But Calling dell if it is under warrenty still would be the best option.

Inability of laptop to recognize replaced battery

try to update your bios for your dell laptop. go to support.dell.com and click on the drivers and utilities image. place in your service tag. on the drivers list... look for bios. download the bios update and run it. it would restart the computer. make sure that you wait for it to return to windows. do not turn off the system while its updating the bios.

Password Dell inspiron 2200

The Dell BIOS password can only be bypassed by either the original password, or the Dell Master Password.  To get the Master Password, you will need to contact Dell Technical Support, and prove you are an authorized user of the system.  (If you bought it, you'll need to process a change of ownership https://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/change_order/tag_transfer?c=us&l=en&s=gen If the system is out of warranty, the tech support call may cost you $49 for the tech support incident to get a master password generated

Dell Inspiron 2200 Charger Malfunction

Try to turn off the computer and remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. Turn on the computer with just the charger plugged in. If it doesnt turn on. you may have a bad power port.

If it has no power/charging issue since that happened except that the indicator light doesnt turn on when you plug in the charger, you may just need a bios update. Click here. That's the bios update for the inspiron 2200 from dell's website. You should have at least 30% charge on the battery and the ac adapter should be plugged in so you can run it. The computer will restart and will come back normally after this. I'd suggest that you backup your files before running this.
