There might be lots of issues if u r not able to connedct to the internet......first check the connection from the wall socket to the tower .........if u r sing a dsl connection if u r usinfg a dial up check the connction from the wall socket to the modem ...............then if u r using a dsl connectio then go to safe mode with networking by tappinf F8 when ur system boots up........then try login in if u r able to log in then ithe issue might be with firewall or norton.....if u r using a norton......if not then click on start---run---type cmd-----then u will be able to see a black and white screen and then type ipconfig.......if the ip add is 169.....it is an automatically generated ip address if u get ip add starting with 192..then u might have the issue with the routewr remove the router and try connecting i.....if u get a valid ip as 10.98.55.56.....or something that does not start with 169 or 192 then ur isp is fine and u should be able to connect to internet .,,,,,even if u have a valid ip and if u r not able to connect to the internet then lower the security level ....and delete cokiees,,history and temp files it will connect.........................................but if u r using a dial up then u might have some error code if u have any error code go to google.com type in the error code u will get a resolution bcoz discussing an dial issue is very difficult to type in here ...............................even in dsl there is a huge troubleshooting steps i have typed in a small step if u r still not able to resolve the issue then shoot a mail at gunjansarkar@gmail.com.....iwill definetly look for a resolution...........

I am using windows XP in my Toshiba laptop sattellie Series. I am unable to make any new connection to connect to Internet.

That is because the L300 does not support XP.
If you reinstall Vista, all will be well again.
XP is no longer supported even by Microsoft as it is over 10 years old and now obsolete.
Hope that helps.

Cannot get my new laptop to use my wireless connection to my adsl router- wireless g old laptop using xp no problem

Hello,
For connecting new laptop using windows 7
Goto Control panel-Network and Internet--Click connect to a network on left side of pane--It should show all the wireless networks including your adsl router--Click connect it would ask for security key-Enter your security key for router-You should be able to connect.

If unable to find wireless network of router then try following steps.
> Turn off laptop
>Turn off router and modem (Disconnect power cable)
>Power on router first then laptop
>Then follow first method.

Thankyou

Wireless problem. it's conected, but limited. no internet connections. my operating system is vista

Generally you get this indication when your system has auto-assigned itself a APIPA IP addres (Automatic Private Internet Protocol Address) where the system was unable to get an IP address from the DHCP server.
To resolve, right click the wireless network connection, Click Troubleshoot Problems to Diagnose and Repair the connection

Lenovo t61 laptop has no tcpip communication ran the "system health" test in Lenovo PC doctor 5 for windows. os XP pro service pack 2 ethernet card has both lights operating showing conection to network...

A couple of things need to be done.
Install SP3 this is the latest service pack for XP.
Install the TCP/IP (Internet protocol)
Open Control Panel - Network Connections - right click on Local Area Connection - click on the box for Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and the click on Install.
Then reboot the computer.
You network should now work.

Open network connections and disable your wireless connection (right click) then renable it and try to connect. What program are you using to manage your wireless connection?
If you are using your manufaturers software then try using windows xp (or vice versa)

Wifi issue

Hi!

Check with your laptop's manual or specification sheet if it came with a built in wireless adapter. If it does, then you do not need to use a wireless adapter. All you have to do is to configure the wireless utility of your laptop to connect to your preferred wireless network.

You can also check Device Manager to check if there is a built in wireless adapter. Assuming you are using Windows XP - Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager. Look for Network Adapters. Check if there is anything under Network Adapters that says "wireless" or 802.11A/B or G. If there is, then again you do not need to install a wireless adapter.

Once you verified that there is a built in wireless adapter, just configure the wireless adapter utility to connect wirelessly to you preferred network.

Good luck and have a nice day!
