white screen fatal dog error wot is happening

  • aznsensation Jun 18, 2008

My phone first went white last weekend, showing some sort of error reading data problem. After I shut it off for a few hours, it went back to normal. When I turned it on this morning, the fatal error dog problem came up, and now my phone won't do anything.
I've tried the star reset button, and the downloading button, but nothing is helping.
Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

This morning I flipped my phone to find the "error fatal dog: startup"

message and all day I've been trying to get rid of it, but as of this evening, it's still there. I will try leaving the phone powerless for a few hours. Looking for a sure fix!!!

I've had the phone replaced twice for this same error. I think it's related to the alarm function because the error started after the alarm went off. Now on my third phone with the same error...

I didn't even know there was a reset button. My phone just stays on the Telstra screen for about 3 mins then goes to fatal dog error. The only way that I could get it to work was to take the micro SD card out and turn the phone back on.

May be the os software has got currupted due to the virus attack to both ur s and ur husband s cell... this may be due to sending or receiving any songs or videos or any data via bluetooth from any of ur 2 cells ... previously the 1 cell may be attacked with virus after that it got transfered to another cell also by sending or receiving data from the each others cell.....
just visit the technician and get flashed (means reinstalling the os software for ur phone)

How to fix fatal error

In order to fix your phone, you need to be calm and patient. Make a wrong move and no one will be able to help you.

Method A) First thing to do is determine if you can connect your phone to your computericon1.png and open its file-system up. If you can, just replace the files that you messed up with the original files (If you didn't back-up get the files above) and then restart your phone.

Method B) If you cannot access your file-system because your phone is constantly rebooting, the first thing you need to do is turn your phone off. If the on/off button doesn't work, pull the battery out to turn it off (DON'T TURN IT ON). Then connect your phone to your computer (While its off, and it should turn on by itself and go into a charging screen) and see if you can access your phone's file-system, again if you can replace the messed up filesicon1.png, and restart your phone.

Method C) If you STILL can't access your phone file-system, don't fear there's still hope. Some users have reported success using this method, but it may or may not work for you. Try holding all 4 buttons (camera, lock/unlock, and volume rocker) on the side when the phone is starting, see if you can get it to a white screen with information stating "This phone has the IMEI. If you want to make the gang image erase the IMEI," if you see that, connecticon1.png your phone to your computer and replace the files, then restart.

Method D) If you find that you cannot stay in the gang image screen above, meaning it turns blue/black with error fatal when you connect to the phone, then do this: Remove the SIM card out and turn on the phone. Hopefully you will get the emergency call screen to display (where you can only make 911 calls). Connect to your phone now and replace the files.

I also got the fatal error screen and another way to get it to the gang image screen is to remove your sim card and leave the battery in then plug it into a wall charger and then use the four button thing to take it to the gang screen, after it gets there unplug it from the wall charger and plug it into the data cable and the screen will remain at the same position..

This is Basically a Factory Reset for your phone. Try the other solutionsicon1.png above, then go for this one. Kind of a..Last Resort i guess you could say.. This is also known as the "GrCobb Method"

I had the same type of problem and had trouble resolving it by putting back the files I thought I had changed. I was getting LG's 'blue screen of *****' with a message like Fatal Error: Dog: 1 or something like that. Here is what I did:

1. Downloadicon1.png the LG Vu firmware files from this site ( Unzip it. These files contain the entire LGAPP firmware folder. Then unzip it. It should create a LGAPP directoryicon1.png with every file that was on your phone when you got it. I know DH said to not replace the entire LGAPP folder because it may brick your phone but, hey, it's already bricked so not a problem.
2. Get into EFS and connect with your phone. Get to the gang screen on your phone using the steps if you have to.
3. Rename the LGAPP folder to something else (LGAPP_bad). Do not delete it. There are some files that are read only and you get an error message replacing them when you copy the new GAPP on top of an existing LGAPP directory. This doesn't happen if you rename the old LGAPP to LGAPP_bad before you do the copy.
4. Copy the LGAPP directory you unzipped above to the phone and restart it.

That is what I did and it came back to a clean state as if you did a factory reset.
Hope that helps.

LG KF390q Blue screen within the following message when turning it on: Error Fatal file: dog: UI line: 0 How do I solve this problem?

This is a system failure, the program could be corrupted. To solve this, bring the phone to an authorized LG repair station and have the firmware re-flash to the phone.

Aside from the firmware, there could be some components that needs to be replaced. Hopefully, firmware could fix the problem so that it would not costs you too much.

Have a great day!
