Question about RCA OPAL M4001 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Same thing Same problem here. Connected on all ports still does it. My advice sell it and buy a Creative or Sansa. Total junk and useless if you can't connect to your computer to put on new songs. BTW, it's disconnected by itself for the 20th time right now and won't synch.

Hi, you can try to upgrade the player's firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (Same thing - moz-screenshot.jpghttp://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=187), the firmware it's the second app listed.
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it off and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the USB port, then update the firmware.

Granddaughter lost cord that plugs into computer for recharging. Where can we get a new cord. Now her beloved MP3 player is useless. Thank you.

Hi mzcowans64,

You can get the cord in any shot which sells MP3 players.

I would recommend you to check in a store from where this MP3 player was bought or any shop which sells sandisk Mp3 players.

Hope this helps...:)

Does not charge

Below are some things to check for when your Sansa player does not charge..
USB Cable Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable that came with your player. Also try ports on the back of your computer, these ports have more available power. Some computers have limited power to charge up the device...
Computer in Hibernation mode Make sure the computer isn't entering hibernation or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be ON in order to charge your player.
USB Port 2.0 Make sure the player is connected to a USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).
Battery Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.
Latest firmware Depending on what Sansa player you have, make sure it's up to date with the latest firmware.
AC charger (optional) AC chargers (sold separately) have a 500-1000 milliamp max output, which provides much better charging ability than a USB port. These accessories are available on our online store.

Philips GoGear 8GB wont show song titles or artists.

the phillips go gear mp3 player is a total pice of **** the best thing you could do is go out return it and buy a sandisk sansa other wise called a sansa fuse they are great and they have an expandable micro sd card port.

oh and to fix your phlips go gear mp3 player you need to take a pin and stick it in a small hole on the side i belive it is on the left side next to the mic.

Computer doesn't recognize device is plugged in.

Hi,
try aa different USB Port if your computer Has One.
Turn the power On The MPEG Player on and off when it,s Connected.
If this does,nt help.
Replace your USB lead, it is possibly broken internally, or player fault.

MY SANSA MP3 PLAYER IS BEING STUPID

I'm sorry to say this but you will probably end up having to return it as tons of people including me have had to do. I got one for Christmas and it worked for a day, just a day, imagine my horror when it didn't work anymore it did the same exact dumb freezing thing. Sansa has offered a solution but it's just crap. Return it to save yourself some time and frustration, think about buying another mp3 that has better feedback from buyers, like say the creative zen 1gb for 89.99 its a good alternative that I'm going to buy as a replacement for my sansa it's more money but its worth it you get what you paid for. If not the creative zen than choose carefully the mp3 your going to buy go to websites that show customer feed back. I'm sure if I'd have not wanted a sansa if I had know so many people's kept freezing. Don't be sad, happy mp3 shopping!

Broken Screen

I just got off the phone with Sandisk and they said that they do not sell parts. If the problem is a manufacturer defect they will replace it if it is under warrenty. They do not refurbish any of their MP3 players. This in essence makes their players throw away items for all but warrenty replacements. Don't buy the extended warrenty it's another waste of your money because of this. .
