Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
The architecture of vista has many variations from older versions of windows.... go to the software properties and in the compatibility tab set it to the version of the windows in which the software used to work... it may help.. if it doesnt work even that way then u have to go for the latest version of the software... no other way....

Batch file for what?
I once ran across a software called Dosbox that I used to run a customers dos based notes program in XP. It worked well, not sure about batch files, but worth a shot I suppose.
