My sidekick id froze up on me for a sec, then it came back, all except the volume was working and it froze up again. I wasn't able to turn it off so I took out the battery. When I put it back in all of my 102 contacts were gone, and so were my text messages and my myfavs. All gone. How do I get it back, or was it just the phone being crapy, because it's not the first time its froze up on me. Please help me out.
Just put the battery back in and once it connects and you have the G up in the top right corner, everything will load back onto your phone. that happened to me today and i was so mad, but everything came back.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I found this guide online. Please let me know if this works!
"1) Insert the ATT SIM card into the back of the T-Mobile Sidekick ID (it should be located behind the battery).
2) Turn on the Sidekick ID, wait for the screens to load.
3) When the screen says "Waiting for Activation", hold the top left button (the "Menu" button with the three lines) on the Sidekick ID and hold the letter "L" on the QWERTY pad at the same time. After a few seconds, let go of the buttons.
4) If Step 3 is done correctly, the Sidekick should be directed to the jumpscreen and display all of the Menu's of the Sidekick ID.
I have a sidekick 2008 that is unlocked with a universal unlocking chip.
I had the same problem, and I spent hours and hours online looking for a solution. Soft resets, full resets, turning wireless off then on, turning my phone off then on. None of it worked.
What did work, was when I desperately needed to send a text, I put my simcard (vodafone network) into my old vodafone phone. After I put it back into my sidekick, and voila, it worked! Not sure why. But every now and then my sidekick gets stuck on emergency calls only and error NET9, I put my sim in a vodafone phone (for you which ever network your sim is from) then back into my sidekick, and it works again.
take out the battery blow it 15 times then blow the back of the phone 15 times your hardest then out the battery back into place and then the loading screen would show thats what happen to me i hope it works good luck
If you sidekick ID screen is white, you may be able to fix it. The flex cable connection cable on the lcd screen itself can come loose. Chance are if you tighten it, the screen will work again. I have had success with sidekick II and sidekick 3 with this same problem.
The following instruction for a sidekick 3 but it is the same for a sidekick ID. Just reseat your lcd instead of installing a new one.
if you wiggle around the flexi cable in back of the screen it might flicker on again.
mine was faded but i was still able to see the screen .. i messed with it & it worked.
if you don't trust that way rotate the screen 90 degrees
unscrew it [MAKE SURE PHONE IS OFF!] your going to need a torx wrench, a really small 1.
take the screen off it & undo the back side of the screen & fix the cable that way.
