Re: pushed the pscan button by mistake
Should be as easy as pushing the pscan button again. You might need to unplug the dvd player for a while till it goes back to factory. The P is for progressive scan and your tv must not support P. Once you get it turned off it will work again. There also might be a button on the remote to turn it off.

This is probably the 'progressive scan' feature for your DVD player.
If you haven't had any other problems with the player, try pushing the button again (a second time). This feature is likely a 'toggle-on, toggle-off, so a second 'push' should turn-off the progressive scan.
If this doesn't correct it, power the unit off, then power-on again. It it doesn't automatically power-up without the progressive scan, try pushing the pscan button again. Hopefully this will turn-off your undesired progressive scan. Good luck!
Hi, I'm not sure what is model number of your VCR-DVD combo so providing you general info to turn off pscan. Put disc in player, press play to have distorted picture then press stop button to stop playback. Now press and hold Stop button on unit for 6 seconds that will turn off pscan mode. Or let me know exact model number of your player to find out solution. Thanks.
Press the 'pscan' button on the front of the recorder 3 times and the picture will come back. This is a little sod as you only need to catch the pscan button once - if your TV doesn't support a progressive scan your picture has gone....
Simple I only paid $32.00 for the unit and was not about to pay to have someone tell me to push a button and fix it. I did not figurre it out, so I just threw it away and will buy a new one. BUT NOT a Digix.
I had the exact same problem and I consulted the manual. All you have to do is turn the PSCAN swtich off. It is located on the back of the dvd player. Then turn the dvd player back on and your problem should be fixed.
