Question about NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router
In November I bought a Netgear WGR614v8 wireless router and set it up with no problems. Everything worked perfectly fine until yesterday, when my connection suddenly dropped. I contacted my ISP, and determined that the problem is not on their end; I can connect to the internet from the modem, but when I hook the functioning cable to the router, I lose internet capability and can only browse around the LAN. I've done everything tech support says to no avail. If I have to unplug my router and wait for one minute again, I think I'll scream.
Check for a vaild gateway address on router,start.run.cmd> type in ipconfig.if you dont have a valid ip or gatway. try a powercycle, turn off modem and then router, wait about 10-20 sec and plug modem back in. check your ip and gateway check for a connection, if that dont work call netgear to see if u have a defaulted router, or take it back for new one if u still have a recicpt.
