Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com. Enter the username (admin) and password. By default, the password is password or 1234 unless it has already been changed.
From the left-hand navigation menu of the Router Manager, select Set Up > Wireless Settings.
3.From the center screen, select your encryption type from under the Security Options heading.
If the wireless network passphrase is visible, review it and use it to log devices onto your network.
If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and clicking Apply.
If you cannot log into your router:
Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings. NOTE: Restoring factory defaults on a device will erase any customizations you have made. You will lose any configurations saved to the device!

in the back side of netgear router you can find router rest switch.its hidden actually.but still you can find if you search for it.hold the switch for 30secs then reconfigure it and see.it should work properly.else ask netgear people for a replacement.
ok... you ned assistance... the modem connects to the router... if you look at the back of the router it should say internet. thats where you connect your modem to. then everything goes through your router...email me and I will try and assist
I suggests you to go for Linksys. It's a good product when it comes to wireless internet. Linksys router must be plugged in to the modem. On the back of the router, you can plug the vista on port number 1 then your win XP machine can go wireless at the same time.
i would'nt recommend it, theres no need for two unless you have mote than 4 hardwired pc's and 8 wireless, especially if they are both modem/routers, you cannot use two, only one modem/router and one router
If your ISP provided you with IP Address, enter the assigned IP address, subnet mask, gateway IP address anbd DNS IP address for your broadband router.
If you connect to the Internet using an xDSL Modem and your ISP has provided you with a Password and a Service Name, then your ISP uses PPPoE to establish a connection. You must enter the required information.
