Dryer was installed and cord added. We have power to the unit because the screens light up. You can select dry cycles but when you press start, the button blinks and nothing happens. LED screen also begins blinking.

Re: LG DLE 9577
Check to make sure that the power legs are correctly installed. Use an volt meter and measure voltage across neutral and hot. Hot leads should be on the left and right side and neutral is in the middle. Hot to neutral should be 120v. Hot to hot should read 240v.

Hey Cindy, thanks for your submission!
I see that your Frigidaire dryer is displaying an error code of "ad". The "ad" error code will display with the "Auto Dry" cycle has been selected. If you did not select the auto dry cycle I would suggest performing a reset on your dryer and you can do that by disconnecting the power cord for at least ten minutes. Once power has been restored to the dryer and if the error code is still persistent you may need to have a replacement control panel or wiring harness installed. I would recommend having electrical parts replaced by a professional technician this will prevent any personal injury. Best of luck! -Matt
Examine the household fuses or circuit breakers if the unit is not working, as the Epic z dryer uses more than one circuit or fuse. Replace or reset as necessary. Use a power outlet with 240 volts or more, which you can determine with a volt meter. 2
Close the Epic z door firmly and press the "Power" button for at least one second if the dryer has power but isn't working. If there is no heat, verify that you selected a heat dry option.
Look inside the dryer for objects that may have fallen out of pockets if there is a clicking or thumping noise. Examine the drum edges and remove items if possible. Separate pieces of clothing inside the dryer if the items got tangled together, and reduce the load size if necessary. 4
Tighten the legs on the dryer if the unit is rocking side to side during use. All four legs should touch the floor evenly. Adjust as needed. 5
Press and hold "Start" if a "PF" (power failure) error code appears. If the code persists, press "Power" and then a new cycle selection. 6
Contact Maytag for help if an error code with an "E" and a number appears on the display. Washer 7
Ensure the Epic z washing machine is plugged into a grounded three-prong outlet if it doesn't start. Shut the lid firmly and press a wash cycle before selecting "Start." Select "Start/Pause" if an error code appears on the display and unplug the unit for several minutes. Reconnect power and choose a new cycle before pressing "Start." 8
Verify that the hose connections are tight on both ends and only high-efficiency (HE) detergent is being used if the washer is leaking. Do not open the washer lid during the wash cycle, as water can deflect off items and splash out of the washing machine. 9
Select "Rinse and Drain/Spin" if the door does not unlock. This removes any excess water from the washer tub. If "Add a Garment" is illuminated, select "Start/Pause" to unlock the door. 10
Verify that you placed the correct detergent in the correct dispenser if the dispenser is clogged or is not dispensing as expected. Wipe out the dispenser drawer with a damp cloth and dry it before adding the correct detergent. 11
Leave the door open after use (if small children and/or pets are not present) if the washer smells badly. Place a laundry cleaning tablet, available at grocery and hardware stores, into the washer and set the washer to the highest temperature wash possible to clean the unit. Both Units 12
Set a piece of 3/4-inch plywood under the washer or dryer (or both if stacked) if the machine is thumping or vibrating or the floor seems too weak to support the unit(s). 13
Tighten the feet on the unit and make sure all four feet are level on the ground if there is vibrating or thumping during use. 14
Do not connect the washer or dryer to an extension cord, as extension cords cannot supply the power necessary for the unit(s).
Hello - Typically error code AD indicates that the Auto Dry option has been selected. Using no heat in any Auto Dry cycle will result in long drying times and/or wet loads at the end of cycle. I would suggest selecting other option or resetting the unit. You may either unplug it or flip the household breaker off for approximately two minutes. Restart unit, select a normal cycle and verify if it will heat. If the dryer does not heat the unit it could possibly have a faulty heating element, blower assembly or a communication problem with the control panel.Contact a professional to move forward accurately.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.
AD is auto dry you may need to clean the sensor or you may have a fauilty one ...Auto Dry
Loads dried using the Towels, Heavy Duty, Normal, Perm
Press, and Delicates cycles will dry automatically at the
selected temperature to the desired dryness level. The
dryer uses sensing bars to sense the moisture level of
the load as it tumbles through heated air. Auto Dry
cycles save time and energy and protect fabrics. The
estimated drying time will be displayed for about 5
minutes, then the outside of the display will light up in
a circular track to indicate the drying time is automatically
being determined by the sensors. When the load
has reached the selected dryness level, it will continue
to tumble, unheated, during a Cool Down period. This
helps reduce wrinkling and makes items easier to handle
during unloading. The estimated Cool Down time will be
Drying time varies depending on size and dampness of
load and fabric type. If the load is too small or almost
dry, the sensing bars may not detect enough moisture
to continue the cycle and the cycle may end after a few
minutes. Select a Timed Dry setting to dry such loads.
Room temperature and humidity, type of installation and
electrical voltage or gas pressure can also affect drying
For cycle selection turn the knob on the front of the
dryer control panel. The light will illuminate next to
the cycle selected. The following is a brief description
for what cycles should be chosen for certain items and
materials to be dried.
