Try checking the sound settings on your tv. You may want to change the output to PCI instead of dolby.

Hi,how do I connect up two 5.1 surround sytems to my PC Pavilion m9451ch I know all I need is a 3.5mm RCA jack into the amplifier and connect them up with the outlets on my computer this is OK for one but...

First, you need a sound-card in your computer that is capable of '5.1' operation.

Second, you need a receiver/amplifier that accepts '5.1' input.

This is usually achieved by a "optical digital" output on the computer's sound-card,
an "optical digital' connection cable, and an "optical digital" input on the amplifier.

you might have to select stereo speakers
you might have to uninstall then reinstall both the driver and the sound devices
control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select ((appropriate speakers)) or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustments there or control panel, administrive tools, computer management, device manager, sound, could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers or right click select properties to either troubleshoot, uninstall, rollback driver

hope this helps

I have a Tascam TM-D1000 digital mixer that has a TDIF output and want to connect this to my computer. Do I need a PCI 822 card or is there another option to connect?

I have a TMD1000 connected to my computer via the RCA ( Red & White) outputs on the mixer to an M-Audio 2496 Sound card in the computer.
also via the Digital out on the mixer to Digital in connector on the card.
I then edit recordings on the computer with Cubase pro.

When playing dolby digital 5.1 surround dvds it.is not getting decoded.i get the sound in all the speakers.

go to your control panel
click the sound icon
under the playback tab select the audio device you want to configure
right click properties
check each tab make sure you have dts / dd ticked

you may have software from creative installed check this to make sure you have the soundcard setup to output 5.1 when available

make sure the sound is configured on power dvd

if you cant get it working that way i suggest trying windows media player 11

also remember the soundcard will only output 5.1 if the source is 5.1 a copied dvd for example could be 2 channel stereo

i hope this helps you out !

Can i use 4.1 speakers for my hcl p2102 laptop?

Hi,
U can use 4.1 speakers with HCL P2102 by connecting stereo pin splitter in Line out and then connecting front and rear spkers.

But U will not get 4.1 surround sound effect as sound card supports 2.1 spkers only, so it is advisable to connect good 2.1 spkers.

go into the control console for the creative sound, see if you can adjust the digital output for dts. you may have to activate it. use the internal or external decoder..i do believe the logitec speakers have the decoder in it. i have a set also, and they decode bolth ways, love those speakers. only difference is i use the audigy card.try what i said, good luck.
