To print the date You can set/cancel the printing with the recorded date by pressing the [DISPLAY] button after setting the number of prints. The date print icon [ ] appears.
•When using the software “SD Viewer for DSC” in the CD-ROM (supplied), you can print pictures with the date by setting the position on the print preview screen. For details, refer to the separate operating instructions about PC connection. •When you go to a photo studio for digital printing, be sure to order the printing of the date additionally if required.
Sometimes I get 'this memory card is protected warning'. It turned out that the lock on the left upper side of the SD memory card slipped down. The lock is tiny and gray on SanDisk. The lock suppose to be in upper position towards top. You can download manual for FX-7 from Panasonic. FX-7 and FX-8 are similar. http://tinyurl.com/35m35xe
If you google your camera model, you will find a location to download software for this camera. The Panasonic Support site is a good starting place..
Kodak has a free photo viewing an touchup software downloadable so you will use their printing service. Another is Picaso by Adobe. Both of these are easier and better than those supplied with camersa. Even Microsoft XP or Vista computer come with a good viewer. Go to Start/Programs/Microsoft Viewer(or some such).
I have "acquired" photographs from my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX 8 using Lumix Simple Viewer onto my computer, and I am able to view them. However, I need them in a format that I can now copy them onto a CD or attach them as files to emails (without using the "Send by e-mail" function). I am sure this is simple, but is anyone able to help me?
If you are using WinXP a window will pop up when you have plugged the camera in via USB and turned the power on.
The window will ask how you want to handle future USB connection of the camera. Ensure you pick "open to a folder" or something like that.
After that everytime you connect the camera it simply treats it like another hard drive and you can browse the folders on the SD card in the camera. Select all, copy, and then paste to a folder on your main hard drive or wherever. OR select all and drag and drop.
You don't need the SD software they supply. The supplied Photobase4 is useful for rotating images taken in portrait mode.
You may want to download this EXIF viewer as it is far far superior to anything supplied by Panasonic.
