Question about Samsung DVD-VR357

1 Answer

No HDMI video signal to projector

I get no video signal when connecting my Samsung DVD- VR357 via HDMI output to my Optoma H31 projector via DVI-I input. I'm getting audio and also getting video via all other connections. I bought an HDMI to DVI-D cable and I thought the cable might be bad so I went out and bought a Toshiba D-R400 to test it out and everything works great with the same connection. Perfect signal. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Drummernick,

I tried that before and that didn't work either. I've brought the Samsung back to the store and kept the Toshiba. I talked to people from Samsung and Optoma and nobody had an answer for me. Thanks for the advice though.

The VR357 was working fine in every way with my 42" Phillips LCD, but when I upgraded to the Phillips 47" LCD suddenly my DVD's /VCR's would work for a few seconds, then my TV screen would say "No Input Signal". Despite this all the audio works fine. Unfortunately Samsung and Phillips support is useless. Anyone know what's up?

To my knowledge there are no video drivers to output video on a Mac USB port in the Mac OS system. There are however, devices that connect to the USB port that will give video out on Conventional (VGA, DVI, HDMI, etc) connectors.e.g. http://www.newertech.com/products/viddu2dvia.phpMost projectors connect via VGA - what Projector are you using?

Hi, Possibly either of 2 reasons: 1. Your player is not sending any signal to the Optima meaning it is the one in question and not the projector; or 2. Your Optima lost its input signal, go through the signal source selection menu, try manual selection & set it to where your source/player is connected. Hope this works out for you, if not pls post again . Good luck and kind regards.

Looking at purchasing a used HP MP3135. In purchasing a HDMI female to M1-DA male adaptor, will this allow me to connect my laptop etc via HDMI cable? We also would like to connect a Wii and HD TV, how do...

HP available M1 to VGA (included )
Optional M1 to DVI (available on HP accesories)
To connect laptop via HDMI to Projector you need a HDMI to DVI adapter + Cable M1 to DVI (you get ONLY Video on DVI Output)
To connect Wii to projector you need a M1 to Composite

look the manuals on page 20-30

Hi i want to connect a tv to my optoma hd 66 projector

hi,
You can't be able to connect a tv to your projector, because it doesn't have a monitor out.
There is only one way. If the source is a DVD player then connect the its HDMI output to the projector and the component video out to the tv. You can't be able to get video out from the composite video output of your DVD player, when you are using HDMI. When plug the HDMI it will switch off the composite video out. The component video out remain ON whether you connect HDMI or not.
ok

HOW DO I CONNECT A AN EZPRO 610 PROJECTOR TO A LAPTOP COMPUTER.

1. You will need a VGA or S-video cable and a 1/4 inch stereo plug that will go from the earphone jack to the EZpro then out to a amplified system for the sound.
2. I believe the EZpro has connections for HDMI which will supply sound as well as High definition video. You should have an adapter for the HDMI also if you

3. connections port as follows:
1. USB Connector (Connect to PC for Remote Mouse function)
2. RS-232 Connector

(PC Digital (HDCP)/PC Analog/Component Video Input)
6. VGA In/SCART Connector (PC Analog Signal/Component
Video Input, HDTV/SCART Input)
7. VGA Output Connector (Monitor Loop-through Output)
8. Power Socket
9. KensingtonTM Lock Port
Looking at the usb port go counter clockwise the numbers are in succession. 1- 9

Digital projector is shutting down as soon as dvd

Hi make sure that in the projector menu it doesn't have an option to cancel "control" as many tv's with hdmi have the capability to receive command signals through the hdmi cable.

Also make sure that your receiver is set for hdmi signal you must designate which input you are using on the receiver and then tell it what type of signal you want it to use.

you may have just pushed a button that changed these settings somewhere along the way.

hope that helps

I have a canon projector with a blue ray dvd player. I connected the video signal using a HDMI-DVI cable, but I cannot get the video signal, how do I set it up?, is it compatible

It's possible that the BD player's HDMI output is either not enabled (look in the player's manual for instructions)
Or the BD's output is set to 1080p which this projector will not support. This projector's maximum resolution
that it can support (down convert) is 1080i The i means interlaced and the p means progressive. Set the BD player's output resolution no higher than 1080i and it will probably wok out for you.

Cheers

Yamaha reciever doesnt recognise hdmi from Mac laptop

Max does recognize receiver over HDMI-CEC.
The problem is that DVI output is for video only. Macbook won't (and can't) output audio via DVI. So yamaha receives only video signal via the HDMI connector. You can check that by pressing Option button on yamaha remote and choosing Signal Info - you will see info about video, but no audio signal present.

No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.
