Question about Insignia LCDTV26 26 in. Television

1 Answer

Won't turn on at all

This Television is only two years old and will not come on. We unplug and wait and try again, still nothing. You can hear it and see the blue light flash when you first hit the power button. Then nothing. If it is the power switch, how much does that cost to replace? I am very dissappointed with this set.

We have had the same problem several times with ours, took it to the shop and they plug it in and it comes on and works fine. Left it at the shop for a week and they watched it everyday - brought it home and it did it again.

The shop technician says it has to do with static electricity in the air in the house - we now keep a vaporizer going in the room with it to keep the static electric down and it keeps working.

I can't imagine the cost of just a switch being too expensive but it's the labor charge that's going to cost you way more. Hate to say it but you may be better off replacing the monitor with a better quality one.

Heard a pop , bulb blew out , replaced bulb , it worked for two days , now red light blinks three times pauses then three times and so on , tv won't turn off light won't turn off unless I unplug...

3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

TV is now about 5 years old and can't turn off or control volume both on TV and remote. Any idea what is the problem?

The only thing I can think for the user to try is to UNPLUG it and wait for 5 minutes before you plug it back in a try it again. Please note that turning off the power (if that control still works) is not the same as removing all power by unplugging it.

If that fails I would suspect that the control circuits have a malfunction, and you will have to take it to a repair shop.

Best of luck!

Tv won't turn on. blinking red light in lower left corner

unplug the television...wait 10 seconds and then plug back in....if you listen carefully after 5-10 seconds you will hear a click sound (the same sound that you hear when you turn on or off) ...once you have heard it, turn the TV on again using the remote. Do not turn on until you hear the click. If this does not work, try again but turn the TV on again before you hear the click. I dont know why it happens but it is as if the TV gets confused as to whether its supposed to be on or off. Most of the time, the solution is to turn it on after the click so I would always try that first.

AKAI 32" LCD HDTV WILL NOT TURN ON

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to jah2mil@hotmail.com
