If you have windows 2000, xp, theres an Icon at the right hand side of the bottem toolbar that you double click on before you plug or unplug any type of device into your system.

No, Off the top of my head i cant remember what the icon looks like, but unplug add on's, like printer, mouse, joysticks, usb port hub, just hook up your basics, boot up the system, clic on the icon and just do what the dialog boxs say and then you should be fine , just relax.

The roller on mouse and the buttons work but the pointer will not move.

I know you aren't going to like my answer that you probably have already fixed yourself - BUT - Get a new mouse! Had the same issue - something went, but the amount of time I spent on it was more then it was worth - wires from USB to the plug inside were good, switches, etc were all good - no move the pointer - replace the mouse and back to work

Mouse/cursor works fine on PC but disappears when watching recorded TV using windows media center. model KB3800TPW

Usually when watching something on your computer in full screen the cursor will disappear. If it comes back when you move the mouse then you have nothing to worry about.

The mouse appears to be on but the pointer on the screen does not move. The keyboard is still working. The re-set button does not correct the problem. Re-booting the computer does not work.

The same thing happened to me today. Somehow, something uninstalled my setpoint mouse software?!?!
While I was actually using the mouse?!?!
(it just stopped moving all of a sudden)

Don't ask me how/why this happened but I fixed it by unplugging the MX1000--both power and usb connection, plugging in an old serial mouse, rebooting the computer, opening mouse properties, going to the Mouse settings (in Control Panel), clicking the Setpoint tab, telling it to look for an update to the Setpoint program, letting it download and install the program automatically, then unplugging the old serial mouse, plugging in the MX1000 (usb first, them Power) and Voila'! Working as it should once again, even without a reboot. :o)
I love this mouse--perfect size, fast, programmable, accurate, long battery life, Perfect!

Mikomi 3 Button Mini Optical Mouse AM-9170U Not Working!

On an optical mouse, two thngs happen. The light shines out and a sensor reads the reflection almost like a camera image. Try some other surfaces, particularly ones which are not shiny. If that doesn't help, install the mouse on some other computer. If that works, reinstall your drivers on the first computer, removing the old ones as best you can (Control Panel...Device Manager...etc.). If it doesn't work on the other computer, check for any switches on the mouse (that would be uncommon) and for warranty coverage. Otherwise, the light sensor is probably broken and there is little you can do.

No mouse response with arc mouse

I had a similar problem: brand new arc mouse. Used it with the supplied batteries which ran out of juice yesterday. Put new batteries in this morning and the cursor wouldn't move at all. Tried every port, other computers etc but nothing. The tranceiver was connecting fine and being detected. The mouse was showing the green light as it should when you unfold it.
In the end i uninstalled intelipoint and was about to take the mouse back to the shop where i bought it. I gave it one more try and it worked!
So to cut a long story short - just try uninstalling the microsoft mouse software. Hope that works for some of you.

Logitech mouse doesn't respond to my clicks

Even though it does not make sense, if you are using a wireless keyboard that is part of a combo pack (mouse included) sometimes (some brands) you have to plug in all cords on the keyboard/mouse receiver.

Neither the logitech wireless mouse or the wireless keyboard will work

Without the specific model keyboard/mouse involved, it is a little difficult to point you to the exact solution. However, I would suggest making sure that your installation of the controlling software did not get corrupted. Additionally, check the physical components and make sure all connections are intact and nothing was damaged (cords, batteries in place, etc.)

Additionally, very likely that the receiver needs to be "reconnected" to the keyboard/mouse. See here for an example of this issue related to the MX600 model. It is also suggested to ensure that you have the most recent version of the SetPoint software installed. (This should not have had an impact on functionality simply by moving it, but doesn't hurt to be current!)

I have the same mouse. What you have to do is first power off the mouse, then push on the green-lit button on the transmitter that you plug into your USB. (It doesn't feel too much like a button but you will see that it starts flashing.) Hold it down for about 15 seconds. Then power on your mouse and you will see that it should start working. I was frustrated too but got mine working.
