Question about Logitech Z-2300 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Power supply. Hi. I'm from the UK and have recently opened my z-2300 speakers box. Just about completed set-up when I realised that the plug supplied is not compatible for the UK mains. Now i dont know if its been packaged wrong or if i need an adaptor or what, but these speakers are 230v of power, so dont know if using my converter is safe. Help!!!

Well, yeah, but this converter is for like shavers and toothbrushes etc. Are the Z2300 speakers supposed to come with an American power supply in the UK? Because I dont want to use my little converter on these beasty speakers for them to blow up, when it might just be a packaging fault and a new cord is in order.

Thanks for your help, I found a UK plug from my radio that was 250v. The same as on the American plug (which they sent) So yeah, thanks because these are the best speakers ever =)

Of course yes, the purpose of the converter is to convert the power output to desired voltage.

be sure that you will use a transformer that converts 230v to 110v.

you didnt say that you are using a shaver adapter.

Hi, I recently moved and one of my helpers dumped all of my power supplies in a box. I can't tell which one goes with my monitor, my speakers, or even my external drive dock. Help please!

your power supplies will have a brand name on them, they will also be a certain size and shape at the connecting end, eventually you will 'scooby doo' what goes where

Worked great for years. Now, won't turn on. Plugged in and all connections checked. Light at on switch does not turn on.

Next step would be to check for power from the wall wart (external power supply). Note the output voltage indicated on the power supply, then check for that approximate voltage with a multimeter.

A replacement power supply can be found at most electronics retailers. Make sure the polarity matches, ie positive tip or negative tip, and the plug must match dimensionally. Make sure a replacement can supply the current that the original did (rated in milliamps - MA, or amps A). Ideally an exact replacement would be best if that is the issue. Be careful, and don't crack open that power supply!

One speaker wont work

if u have experience with the soldering of the terminals then you can open the speaker casing of the sub woofer and then solder the right speaker input wire.

dont do this if you have no previous experience and DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY before doing any work inside.

Yamaha RX-V992 won't stay on. Starts for a second then shuts off.

Sounds like one of a few things. There is an auto protect feature in most amps and they kick on when one of the following happens. This is assuming that the speakers are plugged in when the problem happens. If not, the power supply is shot or some other non user serviceable problem is happening with the amp.
A. Speakers are out of phase B.The Speakers are way to large for the system C.There is a short in one of the speaker lines. D.The speakers are blown or shorted. E. Last but not least, the power supply for the amp is going, going gone. It could also have gotten some moisture.

Not to be redundant but try some of this. Take a new speaker wire, not the old.
1.Check the phase. For all speakers. Make it the same all the way around,
+red or white stripe, to the red terminal and -black or non striped to the black or negative at the amp and speakers.
2. Start with all speakers unplugged and plug just the right front in. Test it.
If it works ok, then plug in the second speaker, again by itself. Test it.
on and on. By process of elimination, you should be able to isolate the problem. That is of course, if it has anything to do with the speakers.

Power BOX supply cord problem or hardrive problem?

Check these settings first. In a clear spot on the screen where no icons are, right click and go to properties, box opens and at top should list from R to L, themes-desktop-screensaver-appearance-advanced. click on screensaver, close to bottom click on power, another box should open, click on power schemes, make sure it's set to portable/laptop, and at bottom make sure settings for plugged in are are set to never. If it's not that then you have a bad power supply cord, or a bad power supply unit in laptop. If it's new and under warranty take it in and have replaced if not warrantied then will cost you about 100-150, just a guess!! hope this helps. But it sounds like the supply cord making the beeping noise might be bad. Make sure it's plugged all the way in as well.

Hello,

No, you cannot fix this. Any replacement you buy will work fine no matter where you are located. You may want to do a Froogle search from Google and shop by reseller rating and price.

It is the Power Supply for the PC that needs to be adaptible with your country's power grid. So, don't worry about that just be more careful, as I'm sure you will, when you install the power plug to your sound card.
